I am been posted to Iraq in September. Platoon Sgt of Delta Company. What a day this has been. My brother in-law is on his way to afghanistan TODAY and now I'm off the Iraq. My mother is in bits. For the non military people that is a fantastic duty. it means I won't be going, I will stay on camp doing guards duty. Just because the reg is away the camp still has to run. I was over in Apr 03 to Mar 04 (it sucks being away from family). I heard things have improved for the troops somewhat since then (more paved roads, billets instead of tents, etc) not that it makes the situation any better...anywho, good luck to you and godspeed!
