Keep in mind, that particular gun your link points to comes pre-assembled and pre-painted and will cost you $190with bipod and shipping. For almost half that much money, you can buy the same gun unassembled and not painted (from the same web site) and do the assembly and painting yourself. My feeling are if someone has the skill to assemble a suit of armor, strap it, weather it, and wear it... they surely have the skill to put together a kit made up of 7 pieces. The Cushman and the Sci-Fire are different guns for different people. And, Sci-Fire guns are beautiful. They are $450. They are available sometimes (but not all the time). The communication is, ask most here, spotty at best. If you want a light, inexpensive, good-quality trooping gun... Then get a Cushman. You will have spared enough money in change to buy an assembled TE2 trooper helmet AND take your wife/girlfriend/lover/whatever to a nice dinner. None taken.... mine is not exactly up to par with the quality I have seen from Sci-fire weaponry (trust me I have held a Sci-fire BFG next to mine - the quality is overwhelming - superior product all around)... If I could afford one, I would ****** it up in a second. I have not personally seen a Cushman, so I have no opinion, different guns for different reasons - I always say. I like to make my own, so I don't mind that they are not the uber perfect model (no offense to all of my colleagues).. How long did it take to assemble? I built this in under three hours... Sometimes it is not only about the money... but time you can spend doing other things. I had plenty of brains and know-how, since I made my own, too. Less than $30. That leaves plenty to spend on other things. But, to each his own. You've said that anyone with a "brain" and basic "skills" can assemble the Cushman, and you said that you built yours in "under three hours." BUT if you follow the link posted by the person who started this thread ... http://home.comcast.net/~roja/283.html he was specifically asking us for comments about the Cushman "Replica MG34 Deluxe V2 (assembled and painted)." The price of that gun, as listed on that page, is $165 and does not include a bipod. If you go to the MG34 page, you'll see the non-working bipod costs an extra $10, bringing the subtotal to $175. In my experience, shipping and handling cost $15 - bringing the total for that gun to $190. $190 is twice as much as the $95 you listed as the higher price of the Cushman MG34. Do you agree that this information is factual and correct (I guess you'll have to trust me on the shipping part)? If so, since you have repeatedly quoted the cost of the Cushman at "$95" or less, and you've repeatedly said anyone with a "brain" and "skills" can put it together, would you NOT recommend that someone pay $190 for the gun in the link that started this thread? When I speak of Cushman guns, I speak of the kits. AND, the kits contain less than 10 pieces. I will address the $15 shipping now (even if Cushman is 3 miles from you). The $15 is for both shipping AND handling. He has to take two USPS boxes, cut them up, then tape them together, and put the kits in, and close them up... and it takes a few minutes of time.
