  1. Thanks for the welcome! Fast AND from the Detachment Leader! Congratulations on that too. Regards,
  2. Hey guys, I am new again. The Forum looks nicely updated since I took some time off.
  3. Hey Rolf. Back in business is a good thread. Later Brother, John, Whitecommando
  4. True, true. Does it matter if we stockpile MREs, Weapons, and water? Or is that just wasting time?
  5. I was talking with a friend, and that movie that came out in the 80's, Red Dawn, could be re-made. And I will put all of this out there as hypothetical. The big change would be a Chinese invasion, versus a Russian/Cuban invasion. And don't get offended when I mention this... but what if the Chinese were to send an enormous task force to the Western Canadian coastline, and once parked there, and debarking for assault, they promise the Canadians "No problems for you if you let us dock in Vancouver for a southern and eastern attack on the United States" and the Chinese directly assault Alaska with a 3rd task force. Read about the Asia-Pacific Gateway and Corridor Initiative (and if you follow the link, you will see a spooky map – strait shot to the Baja peninsula and strait shot to the Great Lakes... http://www.investincanada.gc.ca/en/advanta...eway/apgci.aspx On that link, you can see the free access for the Chinese negotiated by the Canadians in October 2006. Now, imagine three million-men Chinese armies marching on the USA. First Army travels south through Washington State, Oregon, on towards California. Second Army marches due East in Canadian territory to the Great Lakes, and a Third Army takes Alaska and the all of the oil. Also, Chinese Navy attack submarines hunting our Carrier Task Forces to eliminate the threat of retaliatory air strikes. Who do you think would exploit this opportunity? The Russians. They would see that we are stretched thin, attack our forces in Iraq (with support from the anti-American militias) – this would tie up any return of American Forces to defend the mainland... as well as a coordinated Naval and Airborne attacks on the Eastern United States, and Gulf States – most likely hitting refineries in South Texas, ports in New Orleans, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama, and attacking the Naval Reserve base at Pensacola. So, there is some stuff that could happen. Could it now? The Chinese Navy is not ready, nor is their air force. Will they be ready in the near future? Almost surely. And the way this could occur is if less cool heads prevail in the near future... American and Chinese and Russian. Reference George W. Bush, Hu Jintao, and Vladimir Putin. Who will be in charge in 8 years? Sprinkle in some Iranian stuff (Nukes and technology) to make this scenario more spooky. As Mike said... Like World War III bad.
  6. What is funny, is I got two in silver and the other two are almost perfect grey-blue... if paint chips off of the black ones, silver will peek out and if paint chips off of the grey-blue ones, well... same color. How did you connect them??? I think I saw a small bolt and rivet head.
  7. OOH! OOH! Ship your sling to me in my Pauldron Box!!! Please.
  8. NICE PACK! Did you get the primary boxes from Target? I got some trays that look nearly identical to yours... meow. This is my next project too. My Boy Scout frame came last week. I have the MH radio face, the two domes, Some good parts from my Paul Hoeffer retired pack, and 4 "trays" for the base. Great work! I wonder why? John
  9. That made me a little sad. In case you were wondering, Republic Clones are part of the Rebellion, and that is why I am so choked up. That is your big joke for the weekend! Happy Labor Day! John
  10. Not to derail this great thread AND I want one of these Rolf Pauldrons BAD!!!! – but if Seth, or anyone who sees him at Dragon*Con, can point Seth to this post... I would like for Seth to have the money I sent him refunded and sent to Rolf's PayPal. Seth, I will PM you to ask you to do it. The main reason is I am not confident about a Halloween delivery of my SB Pauldron that I ordered in February. I understand things can be tough, but an e-mail or PM would be cool. Even if it says... "Hey! WC, suck it! You are not getting the pauldron... get over it." I just get --- air. Rolf, GREAT WORK. Hopefully Seth will refund the money I sent... even if he does not, I will scrape up the money to buy one in 2 weeks or so. Does that give you enough time for a pre-Halloween delivery? October 31 is the date, but I may have some parties to go to on the 24th, and a Sci-Fi Expo between October 25th-26th! I will need a day or two to weather. And when people ask... "Where did you get that sweet pauldron?" I will say... at the MEPD of course, and from a cool dude named Rolf! I will pimp the she-at out of your pauldrons brother. Troop On! John
  11. I have this gun. I just have to find the time to cut the barrel vent holes! Pretty dang cool... a rare gun for troops so I have heard. I just have to assemble it, and my Lewis, another MG-34 V2 DLT-19 upgrade, and I will be pretty good on TD blasters! As most of you know, I carry Cushman weapons. But, as far as practicality, quality, and budgetary aspects... it is a no brainer. Plus his new vac, and his prototypes (including a de-milled MG-34)... Cushman is getting out some cool guns. PM if you need help in getting prop weapons just like the ones in the photos. I am glad to help. Troop On! John
  12. Need any more help??? You guys look like you are having a great time! See you when you get back. I am coming up to Washington in October. Later Brother, John
  13. I just purged an a-load of PMs, and archived 100, and I have 40 left and it says I am 550% full in my PM box. Do I have a quota of 10 PMs to keep??? Help please. I thought I was special!
  14. Anybody want this? I have no use for it since I am converting my TD to a non-Special Edition version... Painted silver, and masked, and painted white. Weathered with powders. I can intensify if anyone is interested. Game works too. I just checked ebay and there is an un-opened Sub Assault going for $100!!! That is retarded! I paid $30.00 or less. Since my PM box is full, just post if interested here, and I will contact you. Mods, if this is a hi-jack, feel free to move it to the sale section. John
  15. You got that right! I have always been into this whole "WHITE" thing... I may need to consider going orange too. Especially since I have a Lewis Gun/T-21!
  16. Sorry to Tangent – nice gun by the way – ROLF!!! Your avatar is SWEET!!!
  17. And a touch of dirt would be a nice mod. I have a bunch of Fuller's Earth, LMK if you need some baggies!
  18. I agree with Mr. D here. I have an FX-lite suit (I am sorry, but for the price, ease of assembly, easy modification AND an INSTRUCTION BOOK FOR ASSEMBLY!!! – which people complain about** – is a great value). It was super-easy to assemble. It is also comfortable... where clonetrooper armor is not! As for the helmet, I got an FX lid off of thedentedhelmet from a guy for about $80. I wore it 3 times and did what Mr. D said... "Why don't you get an RT-Mod." So, I did. I have an RT-Mod helmet that is nicely weathered. BUT, I have listened to Mr. 1536 and he and I worked out an agreement for my hopeful next lid... either a TM or TE2, if I can find one, and he will put his magic on it. I just have to re-add weathering to my suit to match what he does to my lid. Plus, I got some TE2 shins, and plan to get the RT-Mod abdomen armor. THEN, I AM DONE!!! As for guys planning on buying a suit of armor, to weather and wear as a TD... If I were to buy another whole suit of armor, beautiful white armor – say by TM or TE2 or RT-Mod, I could not, with a good conscience, weather it to be a TD. They all are just too pretty. Plus, a lot of the extras on a TD suit (including a good weathering job) will make for a good looking AND good trooping TD suit! Here is my suit (yeah, I know, ditch the drop boxes, get the knee looking better, and tweak the Ab-plate) So, I guess my suit is a "Special Edition" version... So, a great start is an FX-lite with a better lid. And listen to the guys here on their weathering tips... You will be troopable in under a month. Troop On! John ** Complaints about an Instruction Book is funny to me since every suit of clone armor I have made, built, worn, whatever... came with no instructions at all!!! (one of the reasons I built Clone-Empire... to help guys with a nice, open forum to help each other. I mean just the bucket guys. Even I still have my FX armor.
  19. Yes, it is clear, he is presenting options... and options are good. AND, he mentions the Woodchuck T-21 AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! BUT, I am getting pretty crazy with my gun supply. I have: 2 DC-15 rifles (assembled, and with both with Woodchuck bits) Version One (pre-weathering)... Version Two (assembled)... A Version One kit (not pictured). One DLT-19 converted Cushman MG-34 V1 (if you have the V1 MG, get his upgrade kit for very low price) Looks like this... A T-21 Kit (here is a pic of Paul's... An unassembled MG-15 (not pictured). Two E-11s A Resin Display... A trooping weapon... Looks good, with a bit of work it could look a quite a bit better... And I have 2 unassembled MG-34 V1s with DLT-19 barrels and bipods. And a Rebel Fleet Trooper blaster! Dang it! And I have a DC-15 Carbine! 12 blasters! Troop On! John
  20. I really was seriously interested in the amount of energy and time it takes to make this gun. The only one assembled seen is one on their web site. Get the Cushman T-21 and this gun and do a comparison. Then sell your least favorite. This gun needs a review. No probs. John
  21. Well Sabretooth_aw, I think it would be great if you got one one of these ABS guns. Especially if the "Crushman" is too thin for you. My Cushman DC-15 rifle survived travelling in a tightly packed soft piece of luggage and held up perfectly, even with being slammed around by the luggage handlers. Also, I drop tested Daetrin's T-21 gun. Do not worry, I do it to all that I assemble. I also have the Cushman MG-34, and it has survived many troops... and is light as a feather. As for your quest for this ABS gun, I say you go for it. Frankly, I think the MEPD membership needs a good understanding of how it goes and we need some perspective on how a Lewis Gun made from this kit goes. I have seen pics of this kit before, but always as a kit... never a trooper owning or carrying one. That all cleared up, if you do not have flipping sweet skills, the assembly on that kit, which is untrimmed, will predictably, be a super challenging process. Since the way you will have to put it together... it is most likely assembled (I Think) using a butt-joint process with shims inside... it is like assembling a giant seamless piece of clone armor... that is 54" long, meaning you are back-shimming (internally) over 100" linear inches. Then you will have to fill every linear inch with bondo on the outside! I predict a super-fragile gun once completed. Mainly due to the fact that you have a couple of long strips, or several smaller strips of ABS holding not just one stress point, but two... the left and right side of the gun. Crackle, crackle, crackle. But, I say... go for it since you think it is better than a "Crushman" – I look forward to seeing your end result. Lastly, I probaly suggest that you would not ask Crushman for one of his since he is reading this thread. Good Luck! John
  22. How would guys feel about an all in one, travel pack? Basically, a low-cost, vac-formed back with slightly simplified details. The method of painting it would add to the appearance of looking segmented, and it would be the type of pack you would take on a long-distance troop, and perhaps even give away to an admirer or fan at a con. Is this a good idea or something to be avoided? I have been asked by a guy I know who vacforms things. I am interested in hearing on this. Plus, if I wear a TD suit to D*Con, and only "IF" I go... I do not want to have an accidental fall, for whatever reason, and have a nice pack destroyed. Chime In Brothers, John
  23. EDIT: If that is cannon, I would be interested in having one. It is a cannon for sure!!!! Still looks cool even with its odd bulkiness. All you need is a jetpack and a suit of clone armor!
