  1. MY GOD! gold hit $1003.50, i think i need to find another job now. holy $%^& this is not good.
  2. im not sure if i have access, Chris Cooper TD3321 requesting access
  3. that is VERY interesting, and that is true how can one expect people to remember something from so long ago lol
  4. just a curious question regarding these pauldrons... isnt the proper way to make it screen accurate to spraypaint whatever color you want it to be? whether its white or orange? (abd i assume that black is the color it comes in?) i remember on the 501st boards someone posting that from a book.. what the **** was the name of it? the science behind star wars or something?
  5. where i work i get to see real actual gold bricks and they truly are awe inspiring. the first time isaw one i was like HOLY #$%^ straight out of the movies, you know? i was allowed to handle one and one thing you got to remember is that they are soft because it is 24kt and then from there we melt it down and do whatever else needs to be done. i know this may sound weird but it looked so good i wanted to bite it. so i did. i bit a 24kt gold bar and it left my teeth imprints in it too! i wasnt hungry and im not overweight but the way it looked lol, i just HAD to bite it.
  6. heres the thing with buying gold that you really should consider. the price of gold usually reflects the market. For example (i have records for the alst two years of gold fluctuation) when sales are down and the industry is not in "busy season" and gearing up for either Valentines day or Chistmas or somewhat Mothers day, gold can hit pretty low levels. Whats scares me is right now We are preparing for christmas and we are preparing for mothers day, but other then that who cares to buy? So Mike if that is true about IMF, then the gold your paying a high X for right now may just be worth a lot less X later on. Personally i remember when gold was at 450 and 530. Woe is me that im not older and dont make that kind of money otherwise it would have been a sure buy. consider that 450 all the way to 959!? that is out of this world. but i guarantee that if IFM does not reduce the current value of gold, by Christmas time we will be at least somewhere around the 1200- 1500 mark. Easily. mind you this is all IMO but ive seen it happening and i over hear my bosses and i pay attention to how its affecting my job and everyone else.
  7. if you've invested in gold then youre a genius. honestly. As some fo you know i work in a International jewelry company and we have to check the old lock every day (going off the london second gold lock). Today's Second London Gold fix was $959.75. do you know how much it was last year around this time? $664.20. Can you believe that? BTW that is exactly for Feb 28 2007. Right now the jewelry industry is getting hit REAL hard. We have no less then 20 cuts within our main company quarters and i dont even know how many cuts over seas. Zales had themselves some big cuts too and i know this form some friends who work there. Certain Retailers are closing down stores (unfortunately i cant say who) and quite honestly according to figures, people just dont want or need jewelry right now. Personally i dont own a car but take public transportation every day (2 trains and a bus). But theyre rasing the fare for that too. Its getting tough now. and some people (such as myself) have still not recovered from the holiday expenditures). I agree that things do look bad where they are.
  8. very interesting... if possible can we launch a poll here as well because i think if the FISD cracks down on the helmet that (even though i own one myself and kind of hate the idea of selling or getting rid of it) we should crack down too. But as far as the armor goes, we can still stick to it and not worry too much about upgrading yet??
  9. its not the first two? i know it has to be the middle for sure because of the round dimples instead of actual middle piping(not putting down just taking note) and i could be wrong but that what it appears on the first one too but i could be wrong....
  10. lately i have seen A LOT of talk concerning two different prop makers obtaining licenses and I've not commented nor said a word because i feel it best to wait to see the finished product (i was one of those guys with the Rubies Darth Vader and i now know what it means to be cautious and wait). In addition i have read the posts on FX being improved and to me if there are improved sets of armor out there i think thats awesome. but i do have some questions that i owuld like to know: I would like to know that if FX helmets are discontinued or a newer more accurate one is made, how will it affect those who are deployed? and how will it affect those who are not deployed but are registered TDs (such as myself)? In conjunction with that question, does the answer apply to the armor as a whole? Please understand i am not doing this to stir up any bantha poo but im just curious, and the answer plays a serious role in some economical problems i am having as well.
  11. i have seen a lot of people commenting on the sith armor pouch and how it is huge and how it hangs too low etc. so i just wanted to share with everyone what i did. I brought to sets of sitharmor pouches, the smaller 3 row one as well as the quite frankly, huge 3 row with side pouch. i cut off the side pouch on the huge one and mounted it onto the smaller three row pouch with hot glue. so i had the comfortably size smaller one on my shoulder with the side pouch. For the larger MP40 i cut out the rivets first so that i would have more space for belt to fit in. I then mounted it onto my belt upside down facing me and then put on the belt. when i fold the pouch over, it now hangs reasonably where you dont see any of the large belt area. here are some pics of me wearing it: im in the middle and you can see how it hangs really well: and this was from WSMI when i was first putting on my armor, i still need to fix the way it hangs and how low it but you get an idea. the onyl thing i dont like with my mod is that the 3 tall rows have bronze clasps while the small side pouch has a button, but here ya go:
  12. i didnt like how big sitharmors came out looking on the shoulder, so i wound up cutting off the smaller side pouch and mounting it on the three row pouch he sells which is smaller. I then used the bigger one on my belt. I didnt stretch the leather either, i removed the rivets and then folded it back on itself and i feel it looks better.
  13. i agree, and that wa sone of the biggest problems i had at the event in Philly. i didnt know who was who lol. When it comes to a TD its the color pauldron and the most notable areas of dirt and BAM. thats your dude. My coolest marking is where there used to be an imperial cog sticker. my armor was weathered before taking it off, so when i took off the sticker to be cannon, i was left with the dirt forming the imperial cog
  14. tempt? whats there to tempt you to do? i mean when we pass by in the crowd everyone goes "they must've been through battle! they look awesome." when if you pass through the crowd you get a general call out of "could one of you guys come over here for a picture?" lol. And wait! theres more! we get the little kids coming up to us asking "hey Mr. Stormtrooper is that REALLY dirt?" one time it was raining during a troop and when i came inside they thought a car had splashed me! But wait theres still more! see below: A) we get bigger and better guns we are very easily distinguished from eachother so we can tell who's who and the crowd can recognize us too C) we do the empires dirty work sooo.... >wink< >wink< we get to drink till the droids come home. D) Shiney? Shiney? you got to buff that armor... worry about those little scrapes, while we just incorporate it into our wear and tear E) we have cool accessories! Ammo belts, Pauldrons, Binocs, prod and wait, did i say BFG???? lol welcome to the sandpit!
  15. heres another video of just the ECG trooping the small park acrooss the street from the museum
