    Grout?

Hey, I used the grout idea. and Works great! I used oil based paints then dusted the paint while wet with grout, and gave it the dusty look and helped the paint dry faster. I even used a sock and dabbed and speared areas as well. I used a brush and dusted the cracks and crevices of the pauldrons as well, then wipe off excess. I usually do this about every troop.
  2. Hahahahahaha Now I dont care who you are, thats funny right there.... Thanks, I was just willing to take seconds, and you are so gracious, my friend.
  3. YES!!! I WOULD if they are taking volunteers. But I would wait since you seen her first. LOL
  4. That is some very nice detailing on the weathering. Great catch there. What is with the mirrored green lenses? Very neat but have never seen that before.
  5. I voted, but mine is kind of more hybrid. LOL I am very anal as many of you are, and so my armor is AP and TM. (I couldnt afford a complete TM or it would have been complete) TM armor is the only armor I found with correct shins, forearms, and biceps, so no matter the cost and time frame I waited. It took a while but the brother from Europe came through. I have AP armor and helmet with TM shins, forearms and biceps. No doubled parts here. I even did the same with my TE2 armor, for my clean TK, no disrespect T, Since I was ordering one set of parts I just did two. I want so bad some day to have an ABS pull from T on a TE2 helmet... PLEASE..
  6. Hey just got home after a 14 hr. drive No pics yet but had a wonderful time and wish you were all there. I did get to meet TD 6958 Jens from Germany "in armor" GREAT!!!, Daetrin, Skutch, ground pounder, Darth Voorhees, Aideon, Sandman, and TK9122. I wasnt able to catch up with Cushman, but I may have seen him just didnt know it. If I missed anyone else I am truly sorry because I seen so many of you. Four sporting Trooper1 pauldrons, and quite a few with MEPD t shirts. GREAT!! Will try to post up more, but cant wait to see everyones pictures. We also had a huge turnout ffor the group pic and the Snady pic.

  8. Hey over on the 501st site they are looking for some Sandtroopers to do a walk thru, and only 2 have replied. Anyone else out there who can help post up Thursday at 11-1 from what is said. Jay I am leaving out of here at 3 am on Wed. morning, putting in at 7 pm Long drive
  9. Hey catch me at CV and I have another shirt guy who is very reasonable, and much better than what I have had with the other runs. I will have some info hopefully before leaving on Wed for you. They used to make by FD shirts and did great. They moved and so I thought they had closed, but NO they are still around....
  10. We are driving down, so I will have my backpack, BFG, and MG-34 with me. I am also bringing two extra Pauldrons a white and an orange with me. Also will have 3 other weathered Pauldrons from my run before last, I may let go. hmmmm will see. 6 days and counting. Almost forgot.. I will also have my beret, with patch..... I will be sporting as well.
  11. trooper1 will be there and bringing my TD, and all my goodies that go with it. LOL See you all there
  12. Well, one of my favorite subjects. I am a gun dealer. As for a real MG-34, you have to have a class 3 stamp in the US to actually own one, because it is a full automatic weapon. Now for another note. I can get a true operating replica of the MG 34, in a semi automatic model for around $3500.00 shipped to me. It would have to be transferred to another dealer in your area if in the states, but not a problem getting one. Like I said, if it is a true MG34 it is full auto, and you have to have a class 3 federal stamp or license to own it. Cost of stamp. $250 A YEAR! cheaper to buy the semi auto reproduction. Chief
  13. Very cool, and nice pics. I will keep one for my archives of Pauldrons. Thanks chief
  14. Nice Pics, and thanks for the great replies. Sorry I havent posted up, been slammed with work for the past week after coming from Florida, and havent had any free time. Should be caught up with work in a week or so and be able to post again.
  15. Well my two cents. I have an AP set and a TE2 set. I am one of those guys who wanted so badly for a TM set but couldnt afford the transfer rate of funds to get it here. I am also one who is very anal and particular to accuracy so I got ahold of our TM brother and ordered the correct parts for both sets of my current armor and WALLLAAA much more screen accurate. New forearms, biceps, shoulder bells for the AP, and Shins for both. I am very pleased now, but would still like a complete set of TM.
  16. Hip Hip HORRAY!! Glad to see you made it. Congrats a many! as everyone has said. Cant wait for a great year. Many thanks to those who have moved on as well. Great job by all. I am proud to say I am an MEPD Police Officer, or whatever you want to call me LOL Jay
  17. Hey I just booked at the Quality Inn Plaza from Rosen, for $59.00 a night. Not bad and on the red line of the I trolly .8 miles away. One stop and your at the convention center. Nice place as well, I stayed there last year for the Shot Show.
  18. I do believe if the wife allows, LOL I WILL BE THERE... EDIT absolutely will be there. Going to try and bring some extra Pauldrons as well, if I can get them completed. :D
  19. Hey Very Cool, very cool. I got to spend some time with him last year, during and after a Con, and he is very interesting to talk to. Not only Sandtrooper stuff, but family stuff as well... I had him sign one of those great Pauldrons you are wearing. and 2 of the Medicom Sandtrooper figures. We spoke quite a while about the Paudrons and how they were made. Well enough about that, I think it is great you got to see him and speak to him. Congratulations, Bro.... Jay
  20. Yeah, as long as I have that little bird on my shoulder helping out, I will try to do that. Oh and thanks for the complement. I always figure if I am going to do something, do it right, no corners cut. Thanks Jay
  21. Hey all, Many have asked about a tutorial on how I build Pauldrons. Not cheap pauldrons, but very accurate, top of the line materials, Pauldrons. My web site now list a picture intensive tutorial on building Pauldrons. Material list can be requested if you feel up to the challenge.
  22. Got mine as well, THese are great. Just went and ordered a second pair for my TK now. and another pair for a friend. Bring it on John Travolta!!! Disco Disco Duck...
  23. Why yes, any gun shop should have it. Just need the mount with a screw in stud, I got mine and a few others from a vendor, but Walmart should carry them. Make sure you get he right width to fit the sling. This stud kit comes with a quick detachable sling mount as well. Now if you are talking about the caps on the top and bottom of the stock, then Pepsi 16oz bottle caps is what I used. A little shaping, and painting and then screws and taaadaaaa!
