Caomhanach
ROTJ is all squashed ( i prefer ANH and ESB) Me too... I am surprised at the difference between the 2 as well... Not hanging around over on the FISD that much I didn't know this, though I am sure some people here are...

iconoclasta_88
I think he's doing the whole suit eventually... right Juan? I am just building the bucket for now. This was a special project, and it just cut into the line of my other pending stuff. Maybe I will build it someday. Wont say no since I liked so much the bucket. But I am thinking (dreaming) about other projects before the whole SE TD suit. Saludos
FIVE
Oh... I thought it was the plan, plan. I guess it's just the maybe plan.
troopermaster
I am just building the bucket for now. But you have the full CFO suit? Would be nice to see one build up.
iconoclasta_88
But you have the full CFO suit? Would be nice to see one build up. Nop... unfortunately I only have the bucket. This is kind of a special project together with JoeR, so I did not get the whole suit. Would be awesome though. I will put together the ROTJ bucket in a TD fashion, to, well... see how it turns out and share with everyone... I definitely want now to eventually build a SE TD suit. That would be great to have with my TD... but I first want to build an ANH TK. And maybe another ANH TD. Good thing is that I am very patient so I can wait to all the projects to come real, and I don't forget my ideas to easily. Saludos

iconoclasta_88
Here is an update. I took off the painters tape and now the helmet stands together by itself. Not much of an advance, but it is something... What do you think? Saludos

Smally
Looking good Juan. We best not be loosing all our TD's to that "other" site where everyone is going ROTJ mad! Smally..... TD 'til I die!
iconoclasta_88
Looking good Juan. We best not be loosing all our TD's to that "other" site where everyone is going ROTJ mad! Smally..... TD 'til I die! HEHEHE... I dont think so. Even if the CfO kit is awesome, I would never change my ANH TD for a SE. For me, and I guess 99.999999% of all TD enthusiasts, the ANH TD is how it is supposed to be. The real thing. I would like to have a ROTJ armor, and probably would like to build it into a SE TD, but I AM an ANH lover and would never put aside my ANH armor... NEVER!! LOL!! For me, ANH Sandtroopers are all what a Sandtrooper and even Stormtroopers should looks like. The way helmets are assembled, the way armor is worn. But hey, thats my opinion anyway. But I am really excited about this SE TD build and the CoF ROTJ is very cool kit (the bucket at least which is what I have). Saludos. Saludos. iconoclasta_88
Very small update!!! I finally finished trimming and sanding the ear caps, including the detail on the top of the circle to allow a good fit with the faceplate and the cap and back.... Also, started putting together the mic tips. Here are some picts of the mic tips... And the ear caps. So, whats next? -I am waiting for the chin strap from Karin to fix it with a rivet under the ear caps. -Them, ears will be glued using either white silicone (used for bathroom tiles) or E6000, have not decided yet. Either way, it will make it permanently attached to the bucket so I don't want to rush it... not yet. -Finishing the mic tips. -Adding the rubber trim to the neck -Hand painting and decals -Lenses -Weathering -Aging inside and outside And, I also need to know, find out, research, understand, how the lining was done in ROTJ, SE buckets was done... was it a hard hat liner or a piece of foam (either star or any other shape). And thats it I guess... I am a few weeks from finishing it, but I am enjoying this so much I don't want to finish just now. What do you think??? iconoclasta_88
Great progress. I can't wait to see the final product. Felicidades A THX a lot!!! I am enjoying a lot this project and trying to capture all the details of ROTJ and SE TDs... not 100% accurate since there are not available any real SE TDs reference picts or much info, but trying and enjoying it a lot! iconoclasta_88
Weekend allows me a little armor time, so, here is my progress. Frown and vocoder. I painted the frown in ROTJ fashion: Black. I want a flat black finish, so I painted it satin :S and will kill the shine with some dirt later on. And detailed the vocoder with a ROTJ look. Hovis: ROTJ hovis were aluminum hovi's, so what I did was painting the mic tips aluminum, then black over it, and then finish it with silver paint with a dry brush to simulate aging. Also added some styrofoam bit inside to mimic the white stuffing the ROTJ mic tips had. And then, after trimming and fitting the wire mesh, the aged hovi's were done. And in place. And even though I have not glued the ear caps, I have already placed the decals. Ears will be finished later, when the chin strap arrive. Still to go: -Weathering -Aging -Hard hat liner -Chin strap -Back trap decals (need to decide if they will be gray or will have stripes) -Lenses -Neck trim So... What do you think? iconoclasta_88
THX Bluey and Rolf... This is being a fun project. Difficult, but fun. I was mot 100% happy with the frown, so I decided to re work it. Stil, it is not as good as I would want to, but I dont see how I can get it done better. I am afraid if I continue trying to improve it, I will ruin the whole thing... So, here it is. Better, but not perfect What do you think?
