It looks like it came from heavy use over years in the field, at least when I was in the Army many years back. As for a prop to wear with armor - it depends. It's far more weathered than my kit and for me it would be too much, but if you have some serious work on yours then that's all that matters. I did get one of those sub games to make into a pair of binocs...but I have a problem..does any one know how to weather one and where do I start and what paints do I use???
