hpdblues
Just curious... I have a TE that I'm working on and it came trimmed. Did this one you are working on come trimmed, but you wanted to trim more? Did this TE2/TE need to have all the frown and eyes cut? I'm just trying to make sure that I don't need to trim mine. Brad, The TE/TE2 Commemorative Paradise Buckets were assembled and trimmed. Sandtroopers, just like the individual helmets themselves, are different and each trooper may be looking for "that or this" particular look. Movie reference pics are a must,,but don't be afraid to trim and "clean-up" the helmets. T ePS: By-the-way, I personally like my brow trim low on my bucket... RoCKo
ok, i´m back from my holidays and here i go again... yesterday i tried to recreate the paint cracks of the screenused B.Muir helmet (yeah, i know the helmet wasn´t a TD, but IMO its the best looking helmet out there...)... after that i applied Windsor masking fluid on these spots... (Windsor is a liquid latex fluid, very easy to work with. *RECOMMENDED*) i prepainted the ear parts and attached them to the helmet to cover the under ear area like on the screenused helmets... this morning i painted the helmet with Professional Rustoleum Gloss White SKU# 7592 right now i´ll have to wait for the paint to cure... RoCKo
small update! i prepainted the grey nose area to also look like the d.muir helmet... backcap paintchips with small scuffmarks added using some rubber material and that´s how the helmet looks like after attaching the aereators in final positions, also like the d.muir screenused helmet... TD-1536
Oh man... now you got me thinking about doing the same thing! Fantastic work so far!!
RoCKo
thanks mike, that means a lot to me, coming from you! your "Move along" helmet inspired me doing my own screenused replica. IMO the D.Muir helmet is the best looking helmet but i´m still not sure if this helmet is going to be a stormtrooper helmet like the original or another sandtrooper helmet. Rolf
further outlines added, i hope to start painting in the next few days! Looks good Rocko. I got one question. As far as i know its was only the face mask, and back cap there was in HDPE plastic on all the anh stunt helmets. But all the anh ears was in abs, right?. Thats is why you don´t have the cracks, on the ears?. Cheers bro
TD-4510
I never heard that. I just figured that was something that TE made up Where did you guys hear that??
Rolf
I never heard that. I just figured that was something that TE made up Where did you guys hear that?? Its just because, every time i see a dude make a looking HDPE anh stunt helmet. The ears, are all was pure white. So i was just thinking that, but i don´t know for sure. Lets hear, what people think/know
TD-4510
Yeah, I dont see any green on the Brian R helmet ears. Hmmm. I guess its possible
troopermaster
TE said that the ears were white ABS, while the rest of the helmet khaki (beige, grey whatever) HDPE.
SethB6025
I've never seen a HDPE chip on any of the screen-used helmets ears, I think its reasonable to assume most if not all of them were pulled in white plastic.
nico
My TE helmet was beige HDPE, and the ears was some sort of white plastic that feels more solid!
