  1. I should be bringing my TD with me to CA (probably minus my bfg and pack). I'd like to get some pics at Death Valley before hand. I think I'll be out that way the 12th and 13th. Is there an MEPD patch for Celebration this year?
  2. I added an ARC, a Fett, and Pre Vizsla to my collection this year. Next year, I would like to apply my Fett and Vizsla for 501st status. And go Lancer with the Biker. I am also working on a costume which will (hopefully) be the first of its kind in the 501st legion.
  3. I have the newer HF DLT-19. It is fantastic. Very light weight, durable, and detailed. Best money I ever spent on a prop!
  4. I was in on the first run of the new DLT-19's, and I must say it is without a doubt the finest prop weapon I have ever owned. Everyone in my Garrison loves it, too. Kudos!
  5. I have the Aker set up with a very old cheap MP3 player. I think the MP3 batteries will die out before the Aker, as I have left it running for 4-5 hours before without issue.
  6. We did one in downtown Chicago. It was pretty quiet. Even free drinks couldn't loosen people up enough to spend $90 on a polo. $$$!
  7. Probably LA. None of the gangbangers in Chicago are that artistic.
  8. I think PB moved all the group shots to the last page. I flipped it around so you can see them on the first couple.
  9. Sorry for the delay in getting these posted. I found out when I got home that Comcast had shut my internet off instead of changing my speed package. Now I am finally up and running again and able to bring you all the pictures. I want to thank everyone that followed my gf and I up to the 501st room to get these pictures taken. It was an awesome sight to behold with all these troopers actually on a set piece from Tatooine! Here's the link to my PB: Sandtrooper Pictures
  10. While I have seen worse looking troopers that are 501st approved (my own 1st set of armor included), I would have to say it probably needs 2 or 3 major things before it can be deployed. First, that thigh ammo thing is HORRIBLE. Second, how many teeth are on that thing? Is it a trooper or Jaws? Then the mics, are they some sort of foreign currency? They're totally flat. And what is that belt? Ugh. I would hate to see someone pay $3500 for this. You could honestly get two professionally built accurate suits for what they will charge.
  11. I will be there from the 8th through the 15th. The gf and I are doing Disney Monday and Tuesday, Universal on Wednesday and then the con. We're staying at the Red Roof Inn. I'm still not sure what costumes I will be bringing yet, though. I figure I can fly with one smaller costume and have my friends that are driving bring up the larger tote. We'll see.
  12. Not a shower, but they are having a car wash out here on Sunday for charity, and the other troopers keep threatening me with the hose!
  13. I've got a set of Woodchuck's blasters. Highly recommend!
  14. I have the same one for my voice, but found that people at large events and cons can't hear me if I'm talking out of the pack, so I keep trying to find a better spot to mount it pointing forward. If I had enough room under my chest plate, I would mount it that way.
  15. I've got my speaker/MP3 combo rigged up the same way, blasting the TD loop out of the backpack radio. I also have a second wireless system for my voice mounted in my backplate or side pouch, depending on the day.
  16. I had my gf go to town with my weathering so it shows up better in pics. Especially at cons and indoors, the flash will kill your color.
  17. My gf and I from a fellow troopers recent wedding. From a con a few years ago.
  18. I have no idea! Got it from another member. Have heard maybe a mystery or something similar?
  19. This is it for me, so far. More to come I am sure!
  20. I think Saturday might not work. Sunday maybe. Theater owners probably aren't going to want to lose prime space for a new release movie to make room for an oldie for charity. The theaters in my area that do special showings usually do them on either Sunday or during the middle of the week.
  21. It wouldn't necessarily need to be simultaneously shown around the world. What if it was a 5:01 showtime? That would make it easier to promote.
  22. I usually rock out the backpack for the first 2-3 hours of a troop. After that I either need a break or dump off the pack.
  23. My gf likes to rock out as Biker Chic at cons.
