  2. So many trooping events and so little time...

Thx LFL and Uncle George for making Star Wars and really made this world a happier place! Especially the paycheck for play Star Wars!

  3. Yea, old age does that to you. I take two advils after all troops. You may also try adding a chest strap to your shoulder harnesses. It'll relieve some pressure to the back.
  4. I used to have the actual photos before I modified it. I had to bend, cut center bar, added 1" aluminium strips, and shorten the top side poles. I can't download pics in this new forum, but if you check out my build.(search under 3390 deployment, on pg 4 or 5) You get the look.
  5. Looks great! Fantastic job in the new look!
  6. Trooper1 is the "Armani" of pauldrons. The leather is top notch, is thicker than eBay sellers, comfort is much better, and appearance is better. I will say that the eBay ones are less comfortable, harder foam and leather/vynl, doesn't sit as well, but if you are on a budget
  7. Definitely, I support the troops! The men and women that protects this country from its enemies, THANK YOU, you are the pride of this nation.
  8. Thx for the tutorial, Terry! I will be redoing my weathering and will try out your technique.
  9. Nice...I watched my 49ners pluck the Eagles feathers on TV, but you can never beat being at the game. Thx for the pics, I'm so jealous, those cheerleaders are hot
  10. Great job guys in all the effort & energy you put into this forum. It is outstanding encouragement that makes us strive harder and look better than ever. Our garrison has sparked a new TD interest and it's this forum, its members, were the catalyst. Sundowner- "Cruorem Fraternitas Spiritus"
  11. Pretty entertaining, he put some time into that project.
  12. TDs hands down! LOL Love how the biker scouts are saying they're sharp shooters when they got beaten up by Ewoks
  13. Bright idea of spraying a gloss coat onto my Stormtrooper armor...instant "orange peel" affect, ugggggg!

  14. Yep, that's right. Mine is 29.5" long, but no one is going to notice any difference between a half inch.
  15. Yea, you have to grab the first offender's arm and say loudly and sternly-"Do not hit/kick me or I will hit back." This generally send a message to him and his friends, that unruly behavior is not tolerated. The worse are stupid teenagers and/or adults that act like children. You have to watch your partner's back, like the real world, do interference/blocker That's when you really play in character of a Sandtrooper. It is unfortunate, but a necessity for our safety, that you may have to act like a bodyguard and man handle individuals. From experience, having a handler that know how to deal with crowds is a must. I had an unqualified handler, and subsequently an individual walked up punched my helmet. My helmet twisted around, while the guy ran off laughing. And my handler stood their like an idiot. If it weren't for the children I was posing pictures with, things would have been very different for laughing boy- 19-20 year old. I went and took a break right after to cool off.
  16. Being a TD, I like to play up the character to be macho, pro-active, and wise-cracking(depending on venue- may have to watch what the kiddies hear) Sandtrooper. Sort of Wyatt Earp, but always lighten up for the little kids, to make yourself approachable. Good points are you need not worry about shining your armor or be as gentle. The scuffs and dirt gives your armor its character. You also stand out with different pauldrons and the BFG compared to TKs. And it's harder for the idiots to smack your back of your helmet with your backpack in the way.
  17. Oh yea, that will look great. I did it to mine with an old cd case to backlight it, more realistic.
  18. Have a safe journey! Look for things that shouldn't be there and things that should be there and are not. MTFBWY
  19. Cool, I'm probably the only guy that still don't own an ipod. May have to look for one now since it's cheaper.
  20. Very nice, Marcus! I'm working on mine too, still have a lot of drilling for the dial indicator, want to back light it. Definitely need to get some decals, makes it look so much better. What device are you using for the sound? I saw you added a speaker. How long does it last before the battery dies?
  21. Happy birthday Marcus! Means she wants you to cook for her birthday...kinda romantic. But, I do understand, one of my friends bought me a set of Harbro Star Wars toy figures and I'm 47. I would rather have a six pack of beer than toy figures for a four year old. Thought that counts, I guess....
  22. I'll be there, as Boba Fett! Looking forward to the Giants winning the penant.
