  • 3 weeks later...

I have a question regarding the look of my bucket.

I just notices yesterday that the weird bumpy right eye look might not be due to vaccforming but to triming. This is what I mean:

I am making a Move Along, so, this bump is not so prominent as in other TDs I guess...

But, if I want to go accurate, should I trim the eye like this:

Thx for any help and direction on this issue.

That's exactly how I trimmed my Move Along replica :)

Thx bro...

Do you have by any chance a picture similar to the one I posted (either of the real prop or of your bucket) so I can use as a reference? I have looked for one in my reference archives and I cant find one.

Thx a lot.

I guess that know that I know how this is trimmed, I must do it.

I just used the reference pics on Jez's site Juan.

I used to have some nice pics that Keith posted of the MA helmet from when he went to see it at Christies. The pics are stuck in my old hard drive unfortunately :(

OK... No worries.

Ill go and check the pictures over Jez's (as if I needed a reason hehehe ;) ).

Thx so much for all your help with this project!

:D

I did it.

I was very very nervous and very afraid I would mess it up. I really liked how my bucket came out and I was afraid this could make it look bad cause I was not 100% sure of what was I doing.

I must say that at some point it looked really bad and I was very upset with myself. But contrary to common sense I kept trimming and trimming till I said No more. And then I trimmed a bit more.

At the end it did not went great, but acceptable I guess...

Anyway, here it is: How it looks and I do think it is now looking more similar to the move along bucket, but, what do you thik??

Did I nailed it or do I just love my bucket too much?

Pls. if you think I screwed it up and have an idea on how to make it better, it will be more than welcome. If on the other hand, if you think it looks kindof alright, let me know. Cause I am kinda insecure about this mod.

Thx very much for all your comments and all your help.

Saludos...

Soooooo....

I finally got to wear my complete finished TE2 armor... I must say that I was very very excited about the whole thing, but wearing it surpassed all my expectations. The armor is just great. I've been trooping in white armor for 4 years now and it was like the first time again. This armor rocks...

And I am very happy with how it was put toguether. I tried to make it as accurate as possible and I think the months invested on it payed off...

Mi TD is made up of:

TE2 armor

Mike's decals and hand painted details

Keith's hovis

Trooper1 pauldron

Modified IMA MP40 shoulder pouch

Wien Stolla pouches replicas

Black rubber gloves

Vintage cargo strap for the belt

Chrashmann's parts for the backpack + scratch built parts

Scratch buily MG15

Hasbro modified E11

Mexican brand TK boots

So, here it is:

you done a great work! it is a beauty for sure!!

many many details that make it often the difference between a beautifull armor and a wonderful armor.

you're is in the second categorie.

it is with men's like you that the hobby is always in evolution.

congratulations for you new baby, it fits you like a glove, can't wait to see you in action.

i hope mine will be as so good.

I have not much time as I would like to work on it, and personnal life is difficult right now, but one day it will be my time to show my baby.

Yay, what a great looking trooper - the TE2 looks as if it has been made just for you! Awesome work, Juan!

Cheers

Patrick

THX a lot Patrick. It fits perfectly. The downside is that is makes a funny noice every time I breath rubbing plastic vs plastic. HEHEHE...

Wow - very impressive and good looking too. Which method did you use for weathering?

THX Bro!! :D

I used some acrilic water based paints (like the ones used by kids in kindergarden), and painted with a multilayer technique, using damp sponges and paper towels. Black, tan, dark yellow, light brown, brown and back again.

awesome!!!!
