Sandtrooper knife?

Troops in the field from Romans to British Commandos have knives....Anyone given any thought to this issue?

why use a knife when you have a BFG

Too be honest if it wasnt featured in the movie i wouldnt add it to my kit but thats just me.

But if you're not doing an official troop, there's no reason you can't customize your armor. We custom Mandalorians do it all the time, then again, those customs (for the most part) are not recognized by the 501st.

If you want to at least be true to the Star Wars world, do a lightsaber like in McQuarrie's original drawings.

Most people like to keep it "True" but I think playing around a little keeps things fresh.

I say that with the thought of "less is more" type attitude.

Trying to hide a broadsword isn't a good idea. Having a small knife under the pauldron or on the side of a pack could be cool.

I was indeed thinking small knife on the pack, belt or under the ammo pouch....but perhaps a "Light Dagger" is in order.

Yes, that's what I was meaning. A sleek, slim, short lightsaber, like a generic Yoda saber or something. ....Hmmm... I may have to make something like that now.

A knife would be cool. Something like the old Rambo knife or a big dive knife.

If I was going to add something else to my armor that was completely not in the film, but made sense for a sandtrooper to have, it would be this:

You can't possibly think those sandtroopers would have really carried their E-11s around the planet with no holster, after all. And this is a whole lot tougher looking than the holsters normal stormtroopers had.

Howz this? 10" with 5.5" blade. Knife from Walmart that i painted the handle white. Thought maybe put the Imperial snowflake on the scabbard.

I think it's a little off base in terms of the SW universe, but there's also the practical matter of carrying a real weapon to an event. If you want to go this route you should do it with a fake prop knife.

one of the TROOPS movies had a knife in the back of the belt. be neat to stick it on one of the sholderbells. possibly somethign that looks liek one in a sheath, btu its not real. possibly velcroed to the armor, so you can take it off for official stuff.

ive gone the uberr custom route with ym TD for a few examples. some people hate them, some dont. but it pleases me, so its all good.

Just my opinion, but carrying and/or concealing real weapons is inviting trouble.

I agree. it has no place in the costuming (star wars) area.
