I use a Hyperdyne and am very happy with it. There is also ROM FX, TRIK TOYS, and some newer options. I would recommend ROM FX or Hyperdyne myself. I am not hugely familiar with the other options, I just know those who have them love them. I have heard bad things about TRIK TOYS though. Fans are a must! I have a fan kit made from Skullworx. I just bought another too for my other helmet. -
Thought i'd Introduce Myself :)

There is no hole. I am assuming you have to be 501st approved before requesting MEPD deployment, right? I have my pics submitted to our GML and am waiting. Is there anything I missed for deployment requirements? Thanks! Looking forward to it!

Would blaster scorching my helmet keep me from deployment in the MEPD? Would the 501st reject a TD with battle damage? Please let me know ASAP as I have paint in hand and am anxious to get this phase going. Thanks!!

You Might be a Redneck Jedi If..... * You ever heard the phrase, "May the force be with ya'll." * Your Jedi robe is camouflage. * You have ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Bud Light. * At least one wing of your X-Wings is primer colored. * You can easily describe the taste of an Ewok. * You have ever had a land-speeder up on blocks in your yard. * The worst part of spending time on Dagobah is the dadgum skeeters. * Wookies are offended by your B.O. * You have ever used the Force to get yourself another beer so you didn't have to wait for a commercial. * You have ever used the Force in conjunction with fishing/bowling. * Your father has ever said to you, "Shoot, son come on over to the dark side... it'll be a hoot." * You have ever had your R-2 unit use its self-defense electro-shock thingy to get the barbecue grill to light. * You have a Confederate flag painted on the hood of your land-speeder. * You have the doors of your X-wing welded shut and you have to get in through the window. * Although you had to kill him, you kinda thought that Jabba the Hutt had a pretty good handle on how to treat his women. * You have a cousin who bears a strong resemblance to Chewbacca. * You suggested that they outfit the Millennium Falcon with a redwood deck. * Your business cards read "Billy Bob, Jedi Master". * Your Y-wing fighter has a bumper sticker that reads "My other fighter is an X-wing". * You use your R-2 unit as a beer coaster. * Your land-speeder had a light saber rack. * Your land-speeder has a bumper sticker that reads "Protected by Smith & Wesson Light Sabers" * If you hear ... "Billy Bob, I am your father ... AND your uncle!"

Two Stormtroopers walk into a bar. The third one ducks.

are the teeth round? and are there 5 bumps on the ear caps?

Okay, I have my armor weathered and would like to know if there is anything you can seal it on with. I used acrylic (tempura) like the tutorials said to, and it scratches easily.
-
I guess that is the key question. If I go with the darker weathering would it still be acceptable?
-
I guess what I am trying to say is that (as far as I can tell) it looks like they have been working on repairing AT-ATs or something. Dark, greasy motor oil smudgy kind of weathering instead of the light sand tan colors. I like it, I mean it looks mean. Has anyone used black in their weathering?
-
I noticed in that fan film "Troops", the weathering was darker almost black in the crevaces. I like the look, but it seems the tutorial sites I have visited are only for dark brown through light tan weathering.

I put weather stripping around the inner edge to see if that would give the illusion, but had to take it off due the squeeking noise it made. Embarassing.
