steve12201
There is an operational B-17 stationed at Falcon Field Air Field here in Mesa Arizona. She flies over my house often. You can't confuse the sound of those 4 engines - AWESOME. Once or twice a year you can pay to ride in her for about 20 minutes....at about $400 or $450.00 a crack. Shure would be nice though as there are only like 6 or 8 B-17's still flying in the whole US....16 world-wide I believe During WWII, Falcon Field was a flight training base for RAF pilots. http://www.arizonawingcaf.com/
oo-tee-dee!
I've flown on the Collings Foundation B17 "Nine-O-Nine", was $400 for a 40 minute flight over Westminster, Washington and it was worth every penny, the engines had such a beautiful humming tone to them...I didn't want to land!!!!
