  1. I think as there is a section clearly promoting TE on the FISD the guy is still in business (Business maybe the wrong word ) That section i feel should be disolved into one or mixed into the other armour sections we have on there.new folk see TE armour and think great spend a ton of cash, the circle keeps going. This needs to be broken once and for all and what better time.My head drops every time i see yet another trooper getting nothing for there dollar, and yet the TE brand if you will remains large font bold print slap bang on the forum.
  2. My first hobby was radio control aircraft, started with small back garden stuff.I then joined a club were i got to build trainer aircraft then after a year moved the hobby onto scalemodels. This is the biggest and best model i built, 6foot wing a nice slow flyer .the picture is just before her maiden flight and yes its still in one piece but sadly in the shed. I also played online games so my handle was STUKA for years so the name seemed to have a good ring with Trooper added.
  3. Just a quick one, sure looks like James Brown in the MEPD banner.great shot other than that
  4. Ahhhh the famous wooden floor once more covered in white plastic.Nice one mate, now can you remember what part goes were ?
  5. share your pain mate, but on the plus side and take one look at your new family member....... Things arn't so bad.
  6. Good on you mate, keep that paint away
  7. Ive had an up and down year so far.Started the year without a job but thats now sorted,as for the hobby side of life. got back to model making and managed to snag some kits that i once had as a kid. Also getting there with my clone build, this ones been on the back burner for a year and a bit.Im almost there with the scratch built belt, made from styrene and ABS. The big build that has my full attention is my new TM.Again a little slow as its been in hand since january, but got the top half finished and fitted. All the other parts are ready for strapping. The one other thing would be a new E11 thats about 50% there.I like to have lots of irons in the fire ,keeps the old brain cells active lol.
  8. Welcome back TD 252 i thought this post was the mother load knocking at your door ,talk about a long drum roll .I think we are all looking foward to your reviews and thoughts when these arive.
  9. Spray them white and grab a pastal chalk set from your art shop mate.Spray then rub the chalk into the finished paint job.The great thing about this method is you can vary the ageing from area to area, also the colours. My set has 6 yellows from almost white to dark yellow.there are browns and greys i think 30 colours in all. if you are really brave grab some wire wool to thake the shine off the more worn areas of the helmet and the pastels will really take hold.
  10. Hi Mike , You come cross very well on the moving picture.I know you have been doing these lids a long time but i think you have eased many a mind on how easy it is. A very nice laid back commentary talking through each step putting folks mind at rest of the steps to follow. I had a little laugh about the tool wall not wanting to give up its pliers. Looking foward to the next uploads. Thanks for this as i to date have not seen TE2 plastic ,looks nice and thick and easy to work.
  11. This is fantastic news and well done all involved .heres what ive come up with for the face on shot, some parts are still a little off but almost there.
  12. not sure if this has already been done as i cant see any of the pictures but i just had to do this for you mate.happy Christmas!
  13. You sir are a scoundrel (a wicked or evil person; someone who does evil deliberately ) hahahahahaha I do wish i was building a sandy at this time or had the trooper tokens to hand for a ROLFAULDRON
  14. You know ive just been looking through some screen grabs and just wanted to say somthing about the captain with the lewis gun and hes famous walk down that ally way. Its got to be one of the strongest screen moments of all time, He is so imposing in hes stature and walk you are left with not a doubt in your mind that hes the law in this town.I know these been lots of others but for us guys this has got to be in the top three. back on subject.
  15. Well if you look on this grab Both orange pauldrons have the mark ,so maybe they were bought items??????
  16. Hi Rolf, ive been on the sidelines looking at your project blossom. This is what this hobby is all about in my book. Idea Home work (lots of it) prototype (bin that) take two prototype (cracked it) Final item Then the icing on our trooper cakes, SHARE to the community. A job well done mate and im very sure that each and every PM and order made will be filled, which makes alot of happy troopers. Now thats got to be worth it.
  17. Ive put a side by side of the three examples and also ponited out something thats been bugging me on your ab letterbox detail. The pull seems very soft with little or no detail in there.I first thought it was the light but checked all the other pictures and its defo a bad pull on the suit. This is an easy fix ,cut the letter box out and glue a plastic plate behind the slot.I have shown how it should look in the picture .
  18. Fantastic, you have just taken the weathering hammer in both hands and nailed it mate.Stop there what you have done is highlight all the shapes of your suit and its come alive. Now transfer that same skill over to the arms and leg parts and your there 100%.All i did was some photoshop magic but to work your suit back hands on is were the true art is.
  19. Rolf, thats one of the best mods ive seen. You have taken something as flat as a pancake and given it body.It looks 100% the part mate. The Pauldron is one of the most visable parts of the sandy suit and to get it looking right is a must. I can see many from the UK winging there way over to your post box for the Mrs Rolf magic. Great team work to you both.
  20. I know weathering is a very big subject and to copy nature or something that happens naturally is a tough challenge. We all have in our minds eye what something should look like. Anyway here how i see your suit should be looking.I have taken some of the sold colour you had going and taken it down to almost the white of the armour. All the shapes and pattens are your work just knocked right off...Or maybe something between the two? Hope that helps
  21. thought your MG34 was fantastic and now this.I work with some of your country men so does that qualify me for one of these skilled works?
  22. Outstanding mate, its great to be part of your armour story.Theres been as you have stated may chapters and i bet we aint even half way through this book! Very very nice Rolf, you got me checking my trooper funds, mmmm TE2 maybe but not yet
  23. I was looking at the screen HD grabs and they almost look like there missing from the move along trooper, but look real hard and its because like you said they are dark in colour with just a slight hint of the silver mesh showing in spots. my 2 pence worth
  24. Take a look at my build i did this year. TM BUILD 2008 Hope theres something in there that helps.
  25. as promised "Move along"
