Goldenrod
Please don't hold back. I can handle constructive critisism. I'm in the process of doing the armor. with flash without flash
SethB6025
Its a pretty good start, you might want to add some Fullers Earth over what you have. It gives it a dusty-looking layer and tones down the contrast between paint & clean.
SandtrooperScout
Dont hold back?!? Whats to hold back?! I think it looks great! Good job, trooper.
Scooter
Looks awesome, can't wait to get my New TE2 helmet Good advice Seth, I have just started weathering one of my other helmets and the next step is get me some fullers earth
noodle3
That looks realy good it's realy surprising how much the camera can add or detract depending on the set up. Just a quick question from a novice "how many layers are on the lid so far?", just looking for tip's for when I start mine.
theGreatSot
Looking awesome! I love the weathering pattern on the forehead and the collections of dirt by the ear pieces and around the tube stripes. Like Seth already said, Fuller's Earth will help tone down the overall shine of the white helmet.
JoeR
It looks good but the white looks too clean underneath IMO. It looks like a brand new helmet that has been covered in muck. I think you need to age the plastic a little more, try braks tutorial it is great. Joe
Burt Landcaster
It's not bad for a start if you had some lighter tones going on threw the helmet it would give it a better over all look. Kind of like years of dirty that has been aged on to the helmet even after cleaning its not as white as it used to be. I looked at other members TD's to give me an idea of where to go on mine. weiBes trooper
Try doing a diluted umber wash on it. it will help age the look, over all its a great job.
hpdblues
That's a beautiful job... Man! I gotta redo my armor... T
Goldenrod
thanks guys for your honest input, its the only way to get better at this stuff And thanks for the comps too The fullers earth how does it work? Is it a powder? if so what are you doing to make it stick? I thought about using my pastel chalks technique to further weather it. They work really good. But i have never used the Fullers earth. I guess i would get that at a hobby shop?train section? Goldenrod
SethB6025
Pastel chalk would work too, the Fullers is a powder. To apply just mist the helmet with hairspray and using a paintbrush sprinkle some onto the armor from a few inches away. You keep doing that for a while, then you dab at it with crumpled damp paper towel until the effect is good.
TD2802
I used pastel chalks on mine like Seth advised. Works great!

Goldenrod
Yeah the pastel chalks i've used many times before with excellent results. I had clonesix EP2 and Kamino Armorworks buckets i used it on with great results. I'm gonna try and get it done tonite and post results asap For a second review. I want it to look right. This way i can use the techniques for the rest of the armor. Again thanks for input.
