Stormtrooper
Those are fantastic images (and a taster of what we can expect from Star Wars HD here in the UK in January ) Although they're supposed to be 1080p (progressive - all 1080 lines on screen at once) I got a technical reply from someone over at avforums.net saying that this German broadcast was basically Interlaced, ie. 1080i... which is what British Sky HD broadcasts in. So I'm definitely thinking of upgrading to HD in time for 1st January now I'm not 'up to speed' on ALL the details, but the general consesnus at avforums.net was that NO TV station in the world broadcast 1080p (Progressive), and the only way to get 1080p was from next gen optical disc (be it HD-DVD or Blu-Ray) My point being, the UK broadcast should be as good, if not better than these German screebgrabs... just hope Sky doesn't put some silly Logo up in the corner of the screen Star Wars Trilogy in High Definition - defnitiely makes up for the disappointment of the Laserdisc mastered letterboxed "original Trilogy" DVD release from a couple of months back.... Cheers, John PS - And a big Thank You to the original guy who did the HD screengrabs... wonder if they were done via Component, Firewire, HDMI etc. etc.?
