talizman
Like many other members, I'm currently a victim of the Photobucket saga whereby all my images are not useable without paying their silly costs. I'm in the process of sorting my photos out so I've started this thread as a placeholder. I have a slight problem in that the reference images of the Cantina Captain have also vanished (thanks Photobucket) Are there any plans to host the images elsewhere and re post them so that I can sort my weathering out? Thanks John

I just need access to the reference photos that were posted in the SWAT section before Photobucket disabled them all...
talizman
Im in the process of emulating the weathering however the loss of the library images from the forum due to Photobucket has held me up how is the chest armour looking so far? jcalus
Hi john. Great to see you got your photo issues sorted out. Some of the paint on your chest weathering looks a bit too solid, and seems like some "background" dirt could be added. Also noticed something on your left bicep... numbers or logo writing.. So there needs to be more pics. But with that said. You may want to start a thread in the hurtlocker first and we all can go over your armour and help out in any way we can. The hurtlocker was a great help for me as I went through the swat process. Good luck, and I'll look forward to your picks. talizman
Okay, I've been studying reference pictures and adapting my bucket and armour to match the screen used. I've added the paint runs, repaired cracks, extended frown point, and adjusted weathering. Hopefully I've ticked the required boxes... Anyway, onto the photos... front face showing accurate paint runs extended grey paint to point on right side of frown paint run over right temple repaired "crack" on tight tube large paint run on left tube strapping system visible back side of male popper on right side of ab plate Armour front (black Velcro tab to hold mp40 pouch in place) the sticker on left shoulder bell is my UK Garrison branding to show I'm a cleared 501st member in the U.K. Fully kitted up With DLT19 Weapon Pack
Hausi
Hi John, I really like the overall look of your kit, fits you well, but I do agree with jcalus on the chestweathering which still looks a little too solid and to me also too simple, the trooper I´m emulating is wearing the same chest and helmet and I´ve spend quite a lot of time trying to get it right and I´m still not 100% happy with it. I have multiple layers of weathering on my chest, always added some colour, took some of again then added some more... Your helmet looks really good but I´m afraid you will have to close the two teeth. I also think that you will have to take off the UK Garrison decal (not allowed for SWAT) That´s an awesome DLT! Who is the maker? Just one thing: it looks factory-fresh: add some weathering to it Good luck with your review!

I thought it looked pretty darn close

Hausi
Yeah, you really are darn close to UKSWRATH's chestweathering, hadn't checked out his thread so far. As far as the teeth are concerned, the "stop that ship" helmet that your trooper is wearing has only six teeth cut out.

I'm assuming that because UKSWRATH got SWAT clearance that his and indeed my chest weathering will be acceptable? I'll fill and paint the outer teeth
talizman
Outermost teeth have been backed and filled. Once hardened I'll give them a coat of paint

Felice
Hi John! My last 10 reviews run with photobucket and my own reference libary. Now nothing is available anymore. This Weekend I will reload my SWAT references into a new sharing tool and I will give you a complete Review in the beginning of the next week. But I want to start with the categories and give you a quick and dirty Feedback, ok? So now let us start my friend with the official SWAT Show..... Your gear is on spot and your emulated trooper is immediately recognizable. But each new SWAT candidate gets looked at even more so from the previous trooper and the bar gets raised even higher. You are definitely on the right track though. As stated before, we always stress patience during this process as we pay more and more attention to fine tuning with each new SWAT applicant. The MEPD Senior Commanders and myself will give your armor a full inspection and review. Some details may definitely be missed and re-checked, but we will try to catch them on every pass given until you are cleared and ready to join the Special Weapons & Tactics Team, brother! With that said, let us begin......... So let's start...... For example I will need a picture of the back of your bucket but not in a single posting. That would be great bro! Alright John! This was the first quick and dirty Review. Normally I would say go to Striders SWAT approval because his Cantina captain is the bar...but he also didn't pay any ransom:-) We will see us next week!! That's a promise:) Take care Brother and if you need more advice or some help I will be there for you! Cheers, Felix
talizman
Hi Felix Thanks for the initial feedback. If you could provide photos of the relevant parts, to show me exactly how you would like mine to look, that would be a big help. I'll remove the decal from shoulder can you advise what is wrong with my coffee spot please? I'll remove the Velcro from the chest thighs - what position should they be in? Shoulder pouch - is the position wrong? Weathering on chest, shoulders, biceps, abdomen and boots - I'll adjust the weathering once reference pics are available. Due to photobucket making all the photos on the forum disappear, I had no reference pics to go by Many thanks for the feedback meantime
