TrooperVic
So I was I finally able to get started on my TD a week ago. I've been putting this off for about almost 6 months. I ordered this bad boy from ATA about Dec of 2012. I'll be adding more pics as I go along, suggestions, constructive critcism always welcomed. The bucket was the first thing that I worked on as I received it before I got my armor. There's a few mods that I need to do.Bucket: Re-paint the tube stripes. As they are, they have bleeding and are the incorrect number Frown mesh Get dirty So far, I've worked on all the upper parts, finished the strapping (minus the left abs) and the arms. I may need to put some small amounts of foam in my right arm, it's a little loose. Amor (upper): Still need to add the rivets on the left side of the abs I may also need to add some support between the kidney and butt plates Get dirty! Next up will be working on the thighs, shins, sewing my belt, trimming belt and harness for leg straps. I'm also gathering all my supplies and accessories, however I need to do it at a slow pace...$ and time not on my side. Needed: blaster pauldron boots 2 leather MP-40's and I can't forget the field pack

Allerg3n
Looks great! I'm hoping to be in your position soon - put in for ATA last September and it should be here around May-ish (I hope!)
TrooperVic
- Thanks Scootch! - Allerg3n, the wait is long, however it's totally worth it. ATA so far has been easy to work with. Good luck with your build!

Sandman Tigui
Off to a good start bro, looking sharp so far. Keep the good work up man!
TrooperVic
Thanks Sandman. *Update I was able to get the split rivets finally, thanks to Mike at Trooperbay. Before I start getting dirty, I'm going to be painting them white. Also, the gap between the abs and the kidney plates is due to the fact that the kidney plate is bending back. I'm thinking of hitting a few spots with the heat gun so that it forms better to my body. Any thoughts on that? Now to move on to the belt. I purchased 2 kinds of canvas....the left one is a white canvas, which is a little softer. The right one is a natural canvas which is a little more rough.Which one would be better? Is it just personal preference? By the way, sorry about the horrible lighting.

Every time i see a pair of scissors i break out in a sweat What boots are you opting for and what rank?
TrooperVic
Thanks brother. I'm probably going to email TKboots see of they have any available. As for rank, I'm working on getting approved first, however I'm trying to have my build ready for swat (move along trooper) as close as possible. TrooperVic
*UPDATEWorked on my belt and thighs today. Wish I had more time in the day to advance more. Belt Here is the belt. I'm a total beginner to sewing, with only a few Merc vests and neck seals under my belt , I decided to make my own. I used Pandatrooper's tutorial to get the nice bend. Thighs The thighs are all trimmed up except for the backside, I'm waiting to glue the strips in the front first.
Sandman Tigui
Looks great bro! Better yet how will it suit the real action figure? 😄
TrooperVic
*UPDATE*I was working on finishing my thighs this weekend. After some research and looking at some great WIP threads, I went with an independant belt for the thighs.I used a seatbelt material along with elastic and webbing to re-enforce the snaps (which is what I've been using)
Sandman Tigui
Fantastic!
TrooperVic
*UPDATE* Finished the shins last night. I'll have to take a picture of the entire armor, I did a test fit and I feel like the thighs and shins are too close together.
TrooperVic
*UPDATE*I haven't had much time to finish up a few things, in the past few days. I was able to take a picture of everything on minus the hand plates, boots, pouches, and neck seal. My buddy let me borrow is pauldron for now until I get the orange Cpt one.The covers on the belt were a little wonky, I used E6000 for those, however I might end up using CA glue. Also, I think I might have to trim the thighs a little, they seem a little too long. Any thoughts? I also dyed my pouches black, I may end up spray painting them black a few times. While they were being washed, I made some ammo catridges out of 3mm Sintra. I made enough for 2 canvas MP40's, but, I'll eventually end up making some for the leather pouches.
