Merr-Sonn
Hi, I'm Peter from Poland. I'm new in this forum. In near future I want to build my own sand armor. For me and my son (10). Recently I've made Boba Fett for my son. (He'll wear it at CEII Essen) http://www.thedented...-old-boy-37198/ Now I'm preparing : - my own design of mandalorian pilot (also for Essen ) http://mercs.firespr...p?topic=37114.0 - Boba Fett Z-6 jetpack http://mercs.firespr...p?topic=62868.0 - customizable mando helmet http://mercs.firespr...p?topic=62868.0 It's enough ? No !! Last month I worked on radio for sandtrooper backpack. I've almost finished it. The first user of my radio will be my friend - Sternik (http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showuser=5500). Thank You very much, Sternik . Of course I made it from scratch. In my opinion drawings which are available in web have a lot of errors, so in the first step I made drawings (in CorelDraw) of backpack after analyzing of reference images. This is "Move along" version. After this I cut all parts of radio front panel on laser cutter The front panel of radio after gluing and sanding. Parts are cut by laser cutter and layers were bonded to achieve the desired thickness of the elements. Much better radio front panel looks after painting with primer - ready to take the mold !! Merr-Sonn
Next steps were building of knobs, side handles, box and of course silicone molds of all parts . Building of main/large knob Radio box and knobs during painting Close up view of ready made knobs coated by primer Radio display parts (pinted on color laser printer and engraved by laser cutter)

Bulldog44
Fantastic! Can the knobs turn or are they glued in place? Also is it possible to open the radio somehow? Great work on this. Just for the fun of it, I would love to turn one these into a working radio.
Merr-Sonn
It is no problem to do switches and knobs "as You wish". Back cover is fastened by screws so it is possible to open it.

Fraulein
You might have better luck if you try to PM the original poster or see if that link in his profile is still active. It does not appear that they have been active since late 2014
