SMOKE
So I found a set of Tupperware Hamburger Containers. I have 2 of Gordons Cistern's and was curious if any of you have tried to modify it with these?
Vf2112
If you have Gordon's cistern you don't need stackers Just put cable ties on cistern Check dirty boys build thread on this
SMOKE
Yeah I did that but it would look cool to upgrade don't you think?
Vf2112
Up to you I just really think it looks more accurate Anyone? Rick?
DirtyBoy
Your better off not going the burger stacker route...for 1 it was only used when the cisterns were not available. Plus once you cut that cistern your weakening the whole structure....they are pretty fragile. I think for look you would be taking a step backwards brother
Darth Voorhees
Not to go against the boss, but id have to disagree on this one. Ive done this mod on mine and everyone seemed to like the look when i posted my pack while i was doing upgrades for SWAT. I did it because i had the stackers from when i had a vac formed cistern and i thought it looked more "realistic" than the zip ties. The mod didnt weakin it at all, the cistern itself is pretty durable actually, much more durable than the vac-formed one i had previously. i dont see how you could possibly weaken the thing. I can throw that thing across the room and nothing would happen to it. I dont find it fragile at all. I dont think mine is any different from the ones he offers now. I honestly think the stackers look better than the zip ties, just a little more work and $$. But if you have the stackers and a little time, its simple to do and doesnt affect the strength at all. I got mine from the first batch Gordon sold, and did the mod immediately...been trooping it ever since with 0 problems. I say go for it. Heres how mine came out.:

Darth Voorhees
No problem brother
Vf2112
I'm pretty sure the screen ones were the same as Gordon's but with the rings ricks idea for cable tie use already part of cistern I have seen them like that But it's personel preference I reckon I might be wrong
DirtyBoy
No problem at all.....however, if you look at the original move along troopers pack you will notice that the line is basically straight down. with the burger stacker the dimension is definitely smaller. the zip ties are a simple and pretty accurate bang for your buck plus they would have had them on set. i would just SERIOUSLY think about it before jumping into an unneeded modification. think about this, why would they bother trying to find a bunch of burger stackers back in the 70s to create a look thats basically already there? more money and time.....unlikely....they were cheap and time was money lol
Gordonator
It's all down to personal preference I say. And either ways it shouldn't affect application for Police Officer Deployment. And I am with Rick on the ideas of back in the 70s, I don't think the movie's prop marker will go that extra distance of taking the trouble to modify the cistern when the basic shape is already there. Why waste effort doing that when they probably thought nobody will really paid that much attention to the packs anyway on screen.
DirtyBoy
agreed Gordon.....also notice on the Move Along pack there is no multi level ribbing....its all single dimension ribbed....the burger stacker shows a step up ribbing. unless my eyes are getting bad lol
Darth Voorhees
All good points, and i wasnt disagreeing with Ricks statement of accuracy, just the strength thing. I never thought they used burger stackers..like you said that would be way too much work. i persoanlly just like the look of the stepped ribs, and i wanted Mark to know it wont harm anything structurally, and if he likes the look he CAN do it without worry of breakage of it looking silly, and showed him a pic of what it looks like. When i did mine noone said anything to this effect and I got my police officer status with it like that and no one told me it would affect SWAT either so i really cant see any harm in doing it since he has the stackers, and im guessing he likes the look. I wouldnt suggest going to find them and spending more $$ on them..as like you said, its not necessary, but hey if ya got em, why not? Plus he has 2 cisterns so he can just have one with zip ties on it as well and decide which he likes better. You cant really see the ribbing all that well in screen caps. I thought the screen used ones were cisterns that just had ribbing on them, like as part of the cistern...but then, again, i dont think we'd be able to see it in screen caps THAT well. It could very well be zip ties, but at the same time why would they even do that? I'd think they just used em as is and they probably have ribbs on them from the factory that made em. Now..all that said...will it affect SWAT? Do i need to buy anoither one from Gordon and put zip ties on it?
Vf2112
I actually agree DVH I think it looks better too but went for accuracy And yeah does it affect swat ? ... Not that I need worry lol my swat dreams are crushed n gone lol
DirtyBoy
That's a good question. I don't think at this point the difference would affect SWAT....so I wouldn't run out and buy a new cistern. The most important thing to remember its your gear....make it the way you want
Darth Voorhees
Cool, id hate to have to buy another one lol. Once i officially apply for SWAT, i want to be ready, and if i must swap it out, to be more screen accurate, i have no problem doing that.
