Captain4434
Nice. is the body a solid piece? I started a DLT a few back, I did it with layers, but it came out too thick. Look good there Avatar. keep post progress pics.
avatar_man
all solid, but 3 layers @ .75 each.... runs out just barely wide enough for the 1.25" PVC rear tube between the receiver and buttstock...
BlackWolf13
Are you following this tutorial- http://empireprops.freeservers.com/mg34break.html(it's the one I'm going by) or are you making it up as you go?
avatar_man
Yes, I am basically following that one! The greeblies and detachable barrel are my addition...
BlackWolf13
The detachable barrel is a good idea. I haven't decided what I'm going to do as far as greeblies are concerned. I'm in the same boat as you concerning the bi-pod. I have no idea. If you come up with something, let everyone know:).
TD5422
I have seen people use shelf brackets but I can't find a picture of one
avatar_man
Yeah - I looked at those, but the shortest is 12" and that's about 3" too long... I will probably go this route: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/BIPOD102-41833-724.html and spend the extra loot...

avatar_man
OK Fellow Troopers - here is the finished product.... these are the best pics I could take given the size of the gun... 04 parts, breaks down and re-assembled tight... I know it's not exact, or a Sci_fire, but hey, it's hand carved wood and light..

avatar_man
about 20-30 hours... a couple here, a couple there... the shaping of the butt-stock took the longest for any one peice...estimate about 4-5 hours with a saw, file, sandpaper and some sweat...
