  1. Great question. I'm looking for one as well, so any help would be greatly appreciated over here.
  2. The footwear looks to be non-regulation , but other than that it looks good to me.
  3. Good Lord!!! How can you screw that up? Granted, I have yet to assemble any armor, but doesn't any SW fan worth his salt know the traps go in back?
  4. Very nice! I'm a fan of both the book & the series. Great job!
  5. It'd be cool to get input or pointers from someone who's spent time in a desert environment. I have to agree that it is possible for a TD to be too dirty. I've seen TDs who look they were in a condiment fight or had their armor rubbed down with dirty diapers. My biggest fear is falling into that category once I get my armor.
  6. Just great! More things to add to my list of supplies! Thanks for the pix. Those are great. They'll help immensely.
  7. I thought the TDs BFGs were the Lewis, MG-15 & MG-34. If I remember right, the MG-42 was a heavy machine gun from WW2. Looked like a bulked up version of the MG-34 but I could be wrong. EDIT: I found some links to compare the 2 guns: MG-34- http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg32-e.htm MG-42- http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg33-e.htm They're pretty similar, but I don't recall ever seeing the MG-42. I may have missed it though.
  8. No idea yet. Right now, I'll settle for the ones my folks have being the right ones.
  9. Cool! They look close enough to suit my needs and more importantly, my budget. I'm hoping the ones my folks have are the same ones. I doubt they'll miss them. I don't recall ever seeing them use them anyway. They may as well get put to good use.
  10. Will do. From looking at the reference pics, the cups (or whatever were used on the backpacks) look to be about 3 inches across. Anyone know if that's close or not?
  11. No problem. I'm pretty sure my folks have some. I'm just not too sure on the size. I don't want to get my hopes up and run into the same problem Guns ran into.
  12. What are the dimensions on those dessert cups? I'm pretty sure I know where I can find half a dozen of them.
  13. Thanks, fellas. FX is the route I'm going, mainly because of the $$$ involved. I know a few people who have FX and are very satisfied with it. Looks like it'll be a a good starter set. Maybe once I win the lottery I'll be able to get some TE. Oh, if only...
  14. I tried doing a search of the boards and poring over earlier posts, but have come up empty. What are the differences between the various "brands" of armor out there like F/X, TE, etc...
  15. Or even better, don't get caught.
  16. The detachable barrel is a good idea. I haven't decided what I'm going to do as far as greeblies are concerned. I'm in the same boat as you concerning the bi-pod. I have no idea. If you come up with something, let everyone know:).
  17. Are you following this tutorial- http://empireprops.freeservers.com/mg34break.html(it's the one I'm going by) or are you making it up as you go?
  18. Freakin' sweet!!! That's the one I'm going to build too. Can't wait to see more pictures.
  19. Wow! Very nice! Is it all hardware or found items or a mix of both?
  20. Think that's bad, at least it's not the Nebraska flag. Ours sucks-
  21. That shoulder bell is sweet. I like the patch, especially the Iron Maiden/Eddie-esque stormie. Just think how lame it would be though is every sandtrooper looked identical. Boring!
  22. Bear in mind that this is coming from a guy who doesn't have armor yet so take it for what it's worth, but for myself & what I want to do with my armor is make it my own. Granted, there's only so far you go & so much you can do and still stay within the accepted bounds, but there's still wiggle room. For example, the guy in Japan who has the battle damaged sandtrooper armor. While not my thing and not something I'd do with my armor, it still looks very cool. Once you see it, you remember it. I got a good close look at the armor at C3. Very, very impressive. You could say to a fellow C3 attendee, for example, "Did you see that sandtrooper?" Chances are, they'd say "Ummm, which one? There's like a thousand." You counter with "The guy with the battle damage & holes in the armor and electronics underneath." If that person saw it, they'll more than likely remember it. While nothing like that suit was ever seen on screen, we as a fan group, still accept it as plausible within the GFFA. Looks like something that could've happened. The guy was just out of camera range or he was one of the casualties when the troopers opened fire on the Falcon in Docking Bay 94. Something like that. We want to be part of the group yet stand out in our own way. That's just my 2 credits though.
