  1. I'm the worst when it comes to giving mission reports. This goes back to October 18 in Fremont California. I'm especially proud of this troop because it benefited a charity very close to my heart. As all good troopers do, I've always spread the word of our organization to just about anyone that may be interested. I heard back from a gentleman that I had met about 1 1/2 years ago. He asked if I could appear at his nephew's birthday party and he'd be happy to make a donation to any charity I choose. My son has Spina Bifida so that was the charity I chose, Spina Bifida Association. One of my fellow garrison members John Cambra TK-42111 joined me and we had a great time, the rest of the family are very nice and even sent us home with food and desserts. We took pics with the kids and adults along with some fun shots. Once we were finished they made a donation of $100 and we were only there for about an hour.
  2. We're excited about the exhibit coming to San Jose in October. We did some media hype back in March. The photo below appeared on Star Wars.com website. That's me in the right corner and up front. Billy Dee Williams was also on hand that day but none of us got to meet him. I'll share more when the exhibit gets here.
  3. Is it too late to get a hyperfirm now that SDCC has come and gone? My garrison is trying to get a group order from RPF for a V.3 turns out I had a V.2 from That Helmet Guy. I wasn't really impressed with what I received, so I'm selling it and believe I want a Hyperfirm.
  4. I just found out a friend of mine does silk screen t's also, so if I too can get what ever design we go with, I will get a quote on shirts. 2 quotes are better than 1. I love the idea
  5. New book release that the Golden Gate Garrison along with the Rebel Alliance. I'll get a group photo up soon.
  6. The last set of pics look great. If you're unsure after the latest attempt. Take a break from it and quit looking at it. I will tell this to everyone trying to weather their armor. When you look at your weathering with fresh eyes, it seems to look beter or is easier to get a feel for what you may want to change.
  7. Keep in mind, how you're getting to your troop event. I have a small car, and this tote will not fit in my car unless I'm by myself. If you have a small car and a passenger, one single tub may be too big.
  8. I took the 2012 census today and aslong with my garrison, it showed MEPD. But it said MEPD(pending). By the time I was done, it said MEPD(retired). Has anyone else had this problem and/or know how to get this fixed?
  9. i think it looks great! i went for the very dirty look, but yours is awesome. A thought that someone shared is - Everyone else's lid looks better than yours, to you. That means yours looks beter to alot of other sandtroopers than their own bucket. Each one has its own personality. I know it's hard, but quit looking at it. Don't look at it for a week, then look at it. Your opinion on it might change.
  10. I wear a hardhat for work everyday, I tried installing the liner in an ATA bucket and it's very uncomfortable - bucket too small. TacGearStore.com has some foam helmet lining sets that work great.
  11. All right, sorry I forgot pics of the shoulder strap. I also added pics showing that I'm filling the rivets so I can even maybe make SWAT. I hope there's nothing else I'm missing. Thanks TD-7740 & TD-3677 for the "YEAHS".
  12. Added a few more pics to album that show shoulder ammo pouch fixed and the right bicep. You will also notice some new heavy artillery.
  13. WOW, thanks didn't even notice that. I actually do have a snap plate and strap. This was the first time I put everything on. My helper and photographer had no clue what to look for. I actually since then replaced vecro strap around the bicep with elastic. By the way Pete, headed to Florida on the 21st, but will miss Star Wars Weekends. Hope you got to go.
  14. I've also since moved the belt to the higher correct position I saw that critique on someone else's request for deployment so I figured I may as well take care of it now.
  15. I see in the pics that the ammo pouch got caught in shoulder bell. This has been corrected with the addition of ammo in the pouches. You will also see the ammo that I've made for the pouches in my photo link.

  17. I too would be interested. If you decide to follow through, thank you in advance.
  18. Joel that is cool, but expensive. I didn't have the time I wanted to put into this, but here was my first shot at an ammo cartridge. I will be redoing it with just black and silver and tape off narrower lines. This is just the basic idea.
  19. I need to fill my canvas ammo pouches so they look better and have started making/painting some ammo to fill them. I'm sure some of you have taken the time to make ammo for your pouches. I'd love see what you have come up with. When I finish I'll post a pic.
