  1. Thanx guys, I did up grade to the RT mod bucket last year... didnt even think about him for the rest of the armor *facepalm*
  2. I want to get out of my FX, and was hoping to get a set of the new AM but TG just sent an email that then run that was suppose to be ready in Oct, is on hold till who knows when!? Anyone wanna message me who else makes armor for a 6'1", 250 lbs trooper? Thanx guys
  3. TD 5540 requesting sandtrooper access http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=12984&costumeID=2
  4. :bump: Rubber tubing seems to be the way to go, but anyone have any tips on how to affix it to a hyperfirm?
  5. And yes thats a GoPro-Hero2 camera on my FX bucket...
  6. Butted looks alot better, thats what I did with mine. Then bondoed the kidny side and sanded and weathered it to hide.
  7. Thanx guys I agree! once I get my "smaller" bucket I'll put a lil more care into the weather for it, just gonna dirty up my shimmed areas again to help hide the imperfections, thats all
  8. cleaned it up a lil bit for a troop, and so my squad could finally see it and help me out, might add a lil more back to it this week while im off.... me on the right... need more shim "Plastic Fury" on the right showing me how a real TD should look
  9. Thanx, basically the "Oily/dirt" method, just layering 3 colors; little Burnt Umber, then a lot of Tan, and the final coat was Yellow Ochre that I wiped of sooner, to coat everything lightly.
  10. Being secluded from the rest of my squad down here on an island, i didn't have any Armor Parties for help and yeah I'm a big guy with tiny legs! any pointers would be appreciated... but before you ask, yes I'm getting a new lid for Xmas so i can trash this FX! Plus ill get the accurate gloves, and my Pack will be done by then too, so I'm no wear near submission level, just wanna see what some other TDs think. Need some help on how to even out the kidney and ab gap... and yes i made shims. thanx
  11. Thanx, after a lil more lurking I see the other pouch is usless! Oh Well
  12. I did mine the other way, shimed kidney plate and did the 6 rivets from shim to abb plate...
  13. Mhmmmm, wish we had "dirt" in Key West! Its all just crushed coral sand, so it dries white! LOL
  14. Just got mine today, they changed the stitch on the leather straps to the correct "U" shape, so thats one thing I didnt have to mod! One question, if I wanna wear the non tool pouch one, do I need to shift the D ring to the opposite side so it matches the location on the one w/ tool pouch?
  15. Good advice, Id love to get rid of my shims! But at 6'1" 260lbs not likely, plus Im more barel cheasted... I have a 56" chest and a 40" waiste so my major gap in aromr is between sholder bells and chest/back plate. Even a FX looks small on my torso!
  16. And its all way expesive!!! <_< Further north in Carova it reminds me of the old days, no pathed roads, houses spread out and still some pine trees standing.
  17. I too got in on this last run "before Halloween" as they said, and these boots are great! They will probably be the last thing I weather, gives me more chances to wear them to the dico. LOL Whats the opinion on their pauldrons?
  18. Yeah, I was stationed at NOB from 2001-2009, it really sucked to watch more and more restricions placed on the ORV and even Foot traffic areas! Totaly differnt then when I was a kid going out there.
  19. Everywhere else is just to grassy though, and only spot with multiple large dunes! Once a year, in the off season, my 4x4 club drives the sands(as much as we are allowed) from Carova Beach to Ocracoke Island! I grew up in Avon, NC
  20. Still think these are the best CRL idea yet that ive seen for identifing sceen acurat costume combinations!!
  21. GREAT INFO GUYS! Think I'm gonna order the IMA and mod them, looks very easy! All I was worried about was size.
  22. WHAT A GREAT PLACE FOR PHOTOS!!! Jockey's Ridge State Park in the outer banks of North Carolina. Two class field trips there when I was there and some NASA people, so there was a lot more foot prints than usual, but I got my pic tweeted by a NASA scientist! Apparently I didn't even know it was the centennial of the Wright Bros. flight that weekend! http://firstflightfoundation.org/first-flight-foundation-events/first-flight-foundation-soaring-100/ Next fall I will return in my TD!
  23. Thanx for the pix bro! I was having the same problem too. There was lots of new images on the bonus disks!
  24. That happens to me in my Tusken A LOT!
  25. its "flocked" too! Was thinking about getting a sample to do the inside lid of my bin.
