It is a very simple process, just not to explain Good luck with the build! If you have issues with it passing just give a holler and I can show you what I was trying to explain.

You could always go seamless and make the strips normal size. If you put shims on both sides of the thighs and fill the seams in with bondo or I like to use "plastic sludge" you can pretty much make the halves bigger and get a cleaner look. With the plastic sludge you can even build up areas for the lips on the armor where the strips go. Once it is sanded and painted it will look like you never added shims in it. My calves got larger from running before I broke my leg and I used this method to expand the back of my calves so its wider but it doesn't look like there is a shim in it. Sorry if it seems confusing. I can try to find some samples of what I'm talking about if you need clarification.

I dont think that the correct size appliesfor our larger troopers. It is more that the armor looks proper on your body frame. If you have larger thighs then the bigger strips will look better then tiny strips. You might have to thin them out a little but I would see what they look like when you have both front and back together, unless that picture earlier is a fully assembled thigh. Once you get it dirty it helps blend a lot together as well vs. a clean armor suit where that may show more too.

Like scotty I too am in the service. It becomes muscle memory after a while and then its not as noticable. The trooper packs are a lot lighter though so it will just take time, that and you dont troop as much so its harder to get comfortable with it without bulky straps . As far as the strapping goes I usually put it on over the armor so the armor takes all the main stress from the thinner straps and the pack is almost unnoticable until I turn too sharp or back into a wall.

I think custom suits are cool, though like the fact that canon costumes are approved only. For offical events I feel it seperates us from the average fan that shows up at a star wars event and adds more of an authentic feel. I would like to do a custom suit down the road but I have too many screen troopers I want to make first . In my garrison we have a clone shock trooper that made a kama and pauldron so he can be a commander. Then at a canon event he can change back. I know our garrison invites our rebel legion and fan force group to non-official troops, and we usually get most recognition because people know us more then a generic jedi or pilot for example. You see pauldrons on clean troopers a lot and if that person likes it then its good they are having fun, for those that like to look like they came off the screen, its the same thing. I wont wear a pauldron on my scout but I wont nay say a fellow member who wears one with our patch to represent our garrison, but it depends on your fellow troopers. I would like to say everyone is accepting in the legion but alas it is not true for everyone. As sandtroopers we are lucky that there are very few tense arguments and they get put out fast if there is one.

You actually counted all the members? It says the number on top in the sand bar above the first row of pictures in the police officer section. Good thing there were only a little under 200 :-D.

Not to worry about it being a little wonky. The screen helmets have gaps in the ears anyways so it will make it more screen accurate. Thats a positive way to look at it anyways, unless you wanted the ideal helmet look. It looks pretty good from what can be told from the pictures.

I have a pair of TK Boots, which are amazing boots, and noticed some premature wear on them. Im sure it is more from my last troop where I was literally leaving pools of sweat on the ground. Right at the bottom of the calve armor on the boot I noticed some of the outer material rubbed off. Its not a huge deal because it is hidden under the armor but I was wondering if anybody else noticed this on thier boots, and if so do you put some rubber or something on the plastic to keep it from further wear of just leave it because the damage is done?

I usually dont use the dimples for the rivets and just adjust the helmet to where it should be after my first helmet. Im assuming the plastic stretches a bit from the original mold so the holes are off somewhat on some of them. My sandy bucket holes were off so I moved it to where the gap went away. It was close to the gap you have on yours. The ear plates covered the mistakes and I just put some glue in the holes.

I have an AP kit as well. I cut out the buttons from some of the left over plastic strips and glued them on with E6000.

I am not quite sure where the tk/td/tb/etc. Comes from forsure. I thought I read where it came from at one time, T from the TK and the D for desert. I was watching the commentaries on the blu ray for "Anatomy of a dewback" and heard something cool. When making the special edition set they came up with names for shots so they knew where to add stuff. Instead of shot 200 or 205. The "look sir droids" scene got the shot sequence called TD 1, TD 2, and TD 3 for "Tattooine Dune". I just thought it was neat that our TD designation has more tie ins with the films then I thought.

I think it will in most areas but not smaller towns and such. I know even after school shootings, not in mine but on the news, my old high school allowed guns in your truck during hunting season. Im sure it will impact the costuming community but for offical troops where we are requested, I dont think it would hurt that.

Like Nick said, you just use your existing account to login like you do here which is why it says it is in use. I believe all the detachments are like that, It was the same when I made my FISD and clonetrooper.net profiles as well as this one and the BSN.

I found where my confusion with Quartermaster is coming from. I didnt use the Legion boards CRL when I did my TD just the one on here. In the CRL on this site they have the snaps and rivets included on the construction notes right under the 501st section so when I read the 501st needs I assumed that was a requirement. Sorry for the confusion but it is an easy addition to look more accurate anyways.

They are referring to the thin plastic strips that cover the the butt joints/overlaps.

If you go through the swat requests or some of the deployed requests they have some good shots of the snaps and rivets close up, as for them holding anything they dont have to. You just need the look not the true functionality of them. I thought she was going for deployed status which this area is for. She is just looking for sandtrooper access as of right now is what you are saying. She should post here: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=1536 . Then the mods will get her the correct status.

Actually it says all the stiff I mentioned in the CRL as MEPD deployed requirements.

I noticed a few small things, most are pretty easy fixes. 1. Angle belt corners 2. couldnt see they 6 brads/rivets on the left side 3. one snap on the top of right corner of the ab 4. Probably show the shoulder straps 5. Need a backpack for MEPD deployed, which will be the biggest fix. 6. show a pic of the butt plate seperation Thats what I noticed off the bat. Looking good so far though! Deployment is just around the corner.

Generally it is like a small play, for instance reinacting the road block scene only.

You should be able to just clean up the bucket and any flaws can be covered by the new weathering. Its your bucket and money but I tried several weathering techniques and if I didnt like it I just cleaned it as best as I could. Most of the stuff that was too hard to get off just blended in nice and actually looks good. I dont think it warrants a new kit unless you like that one for display. Just my 2 cents. Looks pretty good though.
