  1. Congratulations Juan, that's awesome!!
  2. We had the same troop here but by the looks of it you guys had WAY more fun. Gamestop was happy to have us but there wasn't a lot of people and it was a bit unorganized. Pizza would have made a pretty big difference. But then again when does pizza not make things better?
  3. I'm excited to wear mine. I'll probably be outside on the porch and selectively (attempting) to scare kids who think I'm just a mannequin. None of my neighbors know I have the armor so it should be fun.
  4. Is that how much those shirts were?? I didn't even look.
  5. That's funny. I kept thinking about going out into the mall just to see the reactions. I got odd enough looks walking into Bloomingdale's with a suitcase and what was obviously a BFG wrapped up in a blanket.
  6. We did troop last night for Bloomingdale's. They released some star wars clothing and they requested a couple characters. It ended up just being myself and a Vader. They didn't really seem to promote it because most of the customers were drawn to the area because of the DJ and then thrown for a loop when they saw a Sandtrooper and a Vader walking around the mens section. It was a two hour walk around/meet and greet and we made the most of it. It was fun watching the peoples reactions seeing the unexpected. I spent a good amount of time standing perfectly still next to a couple of mannequins and when someone walked by I would slowly move my head to follow them. I freaked a couple people out pretty good. There was one little kid who showed up in full Jedi garb who made the night for the two of us. He was probably 7 or 8 and he kept force pushing me and keeping Vader at bay with his lightsabers. The whole night something felt "off" with my costume. I have a new neckseal and I thought thats what felt weird. Turns out I had swapped my pauldron and ammo pack and put them on the wrong shoulders. . Guess that's what happens when you rush to get dressed. Still it was a pretty good time.
  7. If I had the machine I'd be all about it. A friend of mine has a brother who uses it for work and she had him make that for me. I've got something else in the works that I know you will especially like, I just need to get the materials and see how much it'll cost to do the project.
  8. It's actually a machine that scans a picture and then cuts into the wood to create the image. It does take an artistic eye to decide what gets cut and how deep to make the image look good.
  9. A friend of mine made this for me.

    Great Pictures!

Indy found the lightsaber in scene one, was trying to sell it in scene two, and used it to fight Vader in scene three. The whole time the characters are confusing Indy for Solo (Boba Fett, Greedo, Jawa, and random bounty hunters). Here's the video of the show if you want to see it. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7141

    Great Pictures!

You know I never noticed that. It does look that way. I'll have to ask Scott (the guy wearing the costume) to see if that is the case.
  12. Professional pictures taken during the three shows.
  13. Cooler weather is a bad thing. Us thin blooded Floridians don't do well in temperatures under 60. Do you think a down jacket will fit under my armor?
  14. Isn't the weather in CT starting to get cooler? Just to be safe you should move the photo shoot to the beaches of FL
  15. Your weathering looks good! One of the things that I like about going dirty is how everyone puts their different spin on the weathering and like bountyone said if you line up 10 troopers none of them will look the same. The great thing about it is that even if your weathering is darker, lighter, more, or less than other peoples it doesn't make it wrong. It gives your armor personality. As for moving on to the harder pieces, I was worried about the same thing. I just forged ahead and waited to see the big picture (everything put together) to see what I thought. I didn't necessarily like the individual pieces after they were weathered, but when I put the armor back on the mannequin I was really happy with the result. Most of all, listen to Juan... This is supposed to be fun!

    Clear coat

I actually used the hairspray to apply the weathering (I used fullers earth) and after a couple coats of that I used clear flat spray paint to seal everything (two coats). It minimally changed the look of the weathering but in my opinion made it look older.
  17. How could I forget about Tosh.0?!? Freckin Hilarious!!
  18. Football (Pretty much trumps all other TV for me) Man vs. Food (Usually late at night. Which, incidentally, is the WORST time to watch it) Leverage (Nol I'm with you on this one, love it!) Glee (I'd love to say I watch it because of the wife... but I can't) Scrubs (brilliant!) Criminal Minds So You Think You Can Dance (Again, I'd love to blame the wife...) Pretty much any nature programs on Nat Geo or Discovery If there's nothing else on we default to House Hunters for some odd reason
  19. Personally I liked the first series a little more than these. Thanks to a sister who loves to shop I was able to get my hands on the TK lowtops and the x-wings. Still I might have to add the fett shoes to my collection.
  20. It took me opening a dispute to finally get my E-11. Then when it came I really wasn't happy with the quality. I understand businesses can get busy and backed up but that's no excuse to ignore customers. My advice, just get ahold of Lewis at sci-fire. Better product and better service. ...my 2 cents.
  21. Each of you owe Lucas $5 for using his terminology in this thread...

This might have been covered in another thread but I was wondering how rank was determined? Is it amount of time spent as a member on the boards, length of 501st membership, or something else?
