  1. Plus, they'll just get lost in the desert looking for us and convert over by default. Win-win situation there. Congrats on becoming 'official', Brian!
  2. Awesome. I'll bring my prod, and I'll have my pack as well. I've actually got to do a little work on it before I leave Tuesday, as one of my last troops I lost a switch.
  3. Yeah, I can do that. I was considering bringing my dewback prod, in addition to my E-11. Which would you prefer?
  4. I've decided to not kill myself getting a new set of armor ready for a major con, so I'm going to be bringing all of my Sandtrooper (including pack). Are we going to try and have a particular day to all get together? I was thinking of going Sandy on 501st photo day.
  5. After I dyed mine, I took them out into my back yard and drug them through the dirt, then brushed it off. It's still got dirt on it, but it's not "OMGWOWDIRTY". Did my canvas belt the same way.
  6. I'm actually working on a set of WCA Armor that my fiance got from you as a surprise for me.
  7. I'll be there, with at least part of my Sandtrooper. As of right now I'm working on an Animated Clone, that if complete will be going to CV. If that is the case, I'm taking my Sandtrooper upper, a tan kilt and a MEPD beret to wear at the mixer. If the Animated Clone doesn't get done, looking like I'll be toting the pack, legs and bucket. I look forward to getting rather intoxicated with many of you at the mixer.
  8. I'm curious about how the UK Garrison requires troopers to have their TK/TD ID on their armor? Also, Gordon: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i67/td252/Reference/scan0004tk0-kopi.jpg Looks to me like they have a small black stripe on the one closest to the back. That's just me, though.
  9. I use the belt method also. I have a web belt that I wear under my ab armor, with elastic straps that connect to the front and the back of my thighs. Works super well. Made it through two Mardi Gras parades this year with no complaints.
  10. Glad we're back up and running. I was concerned for a few days there that something interesting might happen and no-one would be able to post about it!
  11. Personally, I've only done one event without my pack since putting my Sandtrooper together. At a con within our garrison, we have a "Trooper Olympics" and they were short one TK style armor. I wasn't about to compete with a pack and give myself a handicap. Other than that, I'd pretty much say that I'd go pack on for anything in my TD.
  12. I usually lock my bin, and put my whatnot in there. I use my toolbox on my backpack for storing stuff that people might need to get to (wallet at cons, phone on vibrate at troops). It's always nice to have a tub that has a place for a lock.
  13. Welcome to Star Garrison!
  14. If you find the time, adding a strap to hold the two shoulder straps together can help a lot. Without it, you run the risk of your shoulder straps slipping toward the outside of your shoulders on a longer troop. ETA: It's not really an 'acceptable' or 'not-acceptable' mod, but one that will cause you a lot less pain in the long run.
  15. Thank Scootch. I actually *mostly* followed your tutorial to build the pack. Funny story is, I was marching next to the pack from the tutorial at Mardi Gras.
  16. Yay for working a split shift! (Got a knob, and found my E-11 hiding in my Gen. Veers bin) So, I think that all the knobs are really just placeholders until Crashmann gets rolling on making the new, awesome knobs. Those things look sweet.
  17. For some reason it decided to do that yesterday. I think it's because I blew out one of my straps for the garter system for that leg at Mardi Gras and don't have any of the correct sized snaps to fix it atm. Probably going to Fry's today on my lunch break to try and find a knob, and I'll dig out my resin blaster.
  18. Sad for everyone who likes that wall. It's the same wall as behind the helmet photos in my second round. It's primer white now, going to be Bone White in the next few days. Painting the house so we can get it on the market, since me and the fiancee are about to buy a 'better' house. Also, that is indeed a Legion lapel pin. It makes a nice addition to a beret as a placeholder for an eventual MEPD beret patch. ETA: If the resin skinned Hasbro isn't deployable, I can always get out my nice resin blaster (if I remember where we packed it). Also, getting a new welding lens to make some new lenses is on my list of 'to-do' after I get moved, since I want to attach it more like a visor in a Fett bucket with a Chicago Screw/Rubber Washer setup.
  19. The lenses are flat, save on one where there is a slight bump in the shape of my thumb from where I was heat-gunning it to hold the shape. It catches the light weird right there. I'll find and add a knob of some variety tomorrow after I get off work, and take new pics of the pack once I get that done.
  20. I wanted to be about half as hardcore as you, Troy. This was the only way I could think to do it. ETA: I mean, do you *remember* the time you wore your TD for 13.5 hours, with pack? Because I sure do.
