  1. Let's see, it matches my wallet - the one that says "Bad Mother ****er" ..I had no Idea that Samuel Jackson was a 501st member...
  2. Fess one up - I'll pay 3 bucks for one, we could all play and still not go broke..
  3. I just get the droll look that says "yeah right"... ..but all is not lost, I may be able to get her into a royal guard outfit....
  4. ...Mess with me, and I'll burn you down, just like your Aunt and Uncle.. ..evil chuckling to one's self...
  5. I am 5' 10" - 225lbs... no blubber - just thick..
  6. I have had the knee pinching happen (at Disney for SWW - worst 20 minutes of my life at that point)... I noted that due to the humidity, my thigh straps were allowing the armor to ride lower than normal)... Heck, I even notched my left knee area to provide more flex room.. I still have issues with my thigh straps... (Us Lowland-Gorillas are hard to fit)...
  7. how about a giant ******-Bag icon?... (kidding, just kidding)
  8. Uh - can you say classic...? Holy Crap that looks great!
  9. Try the cutter's or Off Mosuito coils (found in the camping section of your local *-MART store) - they are spiraled and should glue and paint OK.. WOW - posted this and didn't realize JIMBO was already on it..!
  10. I am on about 5 hours now and OK...
  11. ...ever see a movie called "Brainstorm" - There is a scene where a guy loops a personal brain scan of an "adult" nature...he develops an eye-rolling, foaming at the corners of the mouth, twitchy, convulsive full body palpatation.... That's what I am like every time I look at your E-11....
  12. Wow, ..and here I am down at SWW talking up the MEPD, meeting several members (most not deployed yet), and them recognizing me from the board, us talking shop and swapping tips, resources and also helping to possibly recruit new members. Needless to say, while I can identify with some of the concern regarding loss of community - it is exactly these kinds of posts that will drive away possible good membership (nobody wants to join a group of people when they are treated as a NOOB and ignored until they can by some miracle "cut the mustard" and be accepted as a normal member) - Been there done that , and ignore all ***** in the 501st that do this. When I started getting interested in the 501st (fall 2003) I was readily invited to my local Garrison meetings even without being a member, treated well and given advice.. since then I decided that if I was going to become a member, by God it would be as a Sandtrooper (active since November 2005). I found the MEPD and have been grateful ever since. Everyone sees the occaisional butt-head posts and replies (myself providing them sometimes, I.E.- I recently posted my absolute disgust with the clean pauldron consideration that the Legion is thinking about) - but I have never experienced anything but camraderie, helpful suggestions and direction (shout outs to Mike/1536, Tony K and Hippie Trooper).... That being said, yes things change..and being prior Miltary Police myself, I fully understand the need for proper reflection of history, esprit 'de Corps, etc.. but this is a civilian costuming group. The 501st is far larger than it was just 2 years ago and organizations MUST change if they are to survive. While I can accept "military" type of standards and organization, you run the risk of driving away some of the most phenomenal and talented people with this approach - that's a risk I would not vote for as a member. I know a LOT of people that are so non-military it can make your head explode when you think about it. But, I also find them to be refreshing, insightful and more artistic than me on my best day.... This hobby is about fun for me and most other members (some more serious than others, some more psychotic than others - we all know who YOU are! - kidding, just kidding.. )...Let's not drive the fun away obsessing over minutiae or feelings about other persons approach or dedication to their hobby.. This is just my two cents - I am probably full of it, so feel free to ignore me.. Love you all!
  13. Make sure you are using the right kind of Microphone.... If it does not have power or phantom power (provided by your primary ROM/FX or Hyperdyne) - you will not hear anything... Double check for your configuration, electret/electet?? microphone - or use one with a seperate power supply (what I use - 2AAA's).... Don't toss the RS AMP yet...
  14. I had one similar to the Got Armor one..and it was OK - but I finally paid the 45 bucks and got a TK-409 neck seal... MAN, I love it. Very comfortable, washes easy and stays cool... IMHO ..spend the extra cash, trust me..
  15. I use one of these with my Hyperdyne - I gutted it from the box removed the speaker and attatched the leads to my aerator speakers... works well (insulate the aerator speakers well to minimize feedback... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... age=search The only issue I have found with this, the on/off/volume knob is the old style analog potentiometer style wheel... it does on occaision get scratchy and short out (with all the persperation) - a simple turn-off / turn-on seems to clear it...
  16. Check your local Dollar Days (dollar store) - I just found Wet Ones for a buck apiece..
  17. I am with Jimbo - multi bit (cone shaped) - not too fast or you'll melt the plastic..
  18. Hmm.. I had no problem, but I used the extra thick industrial grade PVC AND t shaped PVC couplers...that way the bend can be slight, and the coupler helps to alleviate the "wrinkle" effect.. Just use a low temp propane torch AFTER you insert the PVC into the coupler.. I'll try to get a pic of this and post it..
  19. Hey Guns...Good to see you... ..nice Landspeeder..
  20. Until then - build your own for less than 30 bucks! I am working on making flexible foam copies of the rear stock....
  21. Try the 50/50 mixture stuff... pretty easy..
  22. ..May I recommend a little RTV silicone and some resin copies?
