Non Cannon Accessories
Productions replied to TD-443's topic in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories
Using thermal vision on Tatooine..... hmmmmmm unsure if that would always work, lol Also if you go into hot chambers they could come in use. I see your point tho. -
Same here. I just drybrush where the black paint wears off showing the resin. I also paint inside the imprinted lettering on my E-11, in silver, as it makes it look more real because you can see it was taken off of a real mag. For slings however on BFG’s I muddy them up with shoe blacker, as I an imagine oil and dirt getting caught in the fabric. But yes keep ya gun clean as possible so ya don’t get blockages

I decided to start a project a while back to try and make some non-cannon armour. The armour was to be the hybrid of the Clone Trooper and the Sandtrooper. I ended up coming pretty close to the imperial Commando design. This is the quick drawing I did: So far i have only done part of the helmet because of other projects, but I hope to have the armour by November. Luke

Sorry about always digging up this old fossil. I started my own variation of the helm at the moment, I still have to fill the teeth and cheek indents, back the tusk holes ect: -

To be honest you can't beat the price. Seeing that you hardly have to modify them, even if they are a little small.... Luke -
Lucas loses lawsuit; "Helmets are not works of art"
Productions replied to KarmaTiger's topic in The Barracks
May I quote "Art is anything with no purpose what-so-ever". And Stormtrooper armour is defiantly useless, apart form looking good. -
How the (Star Wars) Prequels should have happened...
Productions replied to Tyranus's topic in Off Topic Cantina
R2 and 3PO should go to the "Star wars - droids" storyline for ep 2 & 3. And obi-wan should have R2 and many other R2 units on a single ship in ep1, hence him not remembering R2 individually "I don't remember owning the droid" -

Copy that, except I would just like to hear more news on the project. Sand's I spotted you on the internet: Luke -
Ok so here's the bad news.... I dropped it......on concrete..... AT THE FIRST EVENT I TOOK IT TO!!!!! "Noooooooooooo!" Luckily I have a friend who knew exactly what to do. First of all we trimmed down the parts so that they all fit together again. Then we glued the parts together with plastic reinforcements inside. After that we sealed off the ends with some more plastic: I then filled the gaps, and sanded down: We then attached some extra plastic supports: Finally I re-sprayed it, and heavily weathered it: I hope this helps anyone who fall into the same breakage problem What does everyone think of how it looks, with the new weathering??? Luke
-
The bottom two pictures are of it weathered. I will try and take some later today, as they are not very clear. The light is a “plasma disc”, that I inserted into the barrel, when I was putting it together. Luke EDIT- Pictures Added:

Here's another picture, think it's better than the last one... What does everyone think?? Luke

May I quote some advice I was given... I have to say, I prefer my T-21 now its weathered. Luke

"Here's me beauty", lol. I made the sling loop by hammering some steel rod into a loop; I then attached it with some thick plastic and rivets. For the adjuster I used a "ladder fastener", that I weathered with my gun. I then wrapped the webbing round the other end (very tightly), and attached pop rivets. The weathering was dry brushed on, and then I lacquerd it so it’s nice and shiny. What does everyone think?? Luke

I say do it to. I can sit down, on tall stools/chairs now. Here are some pics for you: Hope the help Luke

Non Cannon Accessories

Sorry to dig up this old fossil, but I just had to show you guys my new mod. Basically its a torch, similarly attached to my helmet as the one in "Star Wars -Clone Wars". It is constructed of an aluminium torch, and one piece of HIPS, that has been shaped over the top of it. I then attached it using the two machine screws on my helmet, so that it is removable. What does everyone think? Luke -
A friend of mine has built a few replica slings before. He made a perfect match for his Lewis gun, a few years ago. And said he would lend a hand with mine. Other reasons for building one from scratch is weight & durability. The material used on the original slings were heavyweight WWII webbing, this frays and falls apart over time. The one I shall be making will be Polypropylene webbing, very light weight and heavy duty material. PLUS, if any frays occur on this webbing, you can simply get a lighter and met the fraying edge together (I have done that a few times on my armours webbing system, and no problems have occurred.) Thanks Luke

I shall be making a sling soon, from scratch. So I will keep the thread updated when I start. Very true, weathered it shall be! I don't want to paint it in wood grain however. As in the movie they seem to have sprayed the stock black, along with the gun. Thanks again Luke
-
TA DA!!! I sprayed it in black today, and I love how it looks . I’m not sure whether I should weather and lacquer it, as it looks so cool in matte black. What does everyone think? Thank you for all the help people have given me! Luke P.S Here is a little video to show the trigger and plasma disc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGrpn5E6hD8
