  1. Bring it on! While I like FF from a user standpoint IE is in my experience far easier to code against. Just wait for IE9 (though I confess I wish MSFT would just end development of IE and start fresh with a new browser that does not bring forward all the old hacks introduced by trying to make IE work like Netscape last decade).
  2. Oh and lastly - I know it seems like a lot of work now, but if history is any lesson once you settle on these design tweaks the board will not need much work for a few years. MEPD is blessed to have you do all this Noel, it will be the face of MEPD for years (and this is a good thing!)
  3. Actually you can. You can create a custom attribute - this is what we did for the EIB designation on FISD and it's also how we power the service awards. BTW, love the new group icons - you are a master of UI Lastly, I'll politely disagree with you about IE vs. FF. I guess it's like Mac vs. Win, Ford vs. Chevy, et. al.
  4. Would that be in addition to the custom title, or replacing it? Deployed troopers already have the custom title of MEPD Police Officer.
  5. Hey Michael - this thread was from when I migrated the forums from the old phpBB to Invision 2.x. This was just upgraded by Noel to Invision 3 last week. I'd suggest posting in the new thread for current issues. Still - hard to believe it's been just over a year since the last upgrade!
  6. I just don't see them being used, so think they can be dropped.
  7. Nice. I especially like the radio. Do you plan to make any of this functional?
  8. For those who don't know, Brian Muir published a book in the UK called "In the Shadow of Vader" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shadow-Vader-Brian-Muir/dp/1907188193/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266983483&sr=8-1 It's a surprisingly good read and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the man who sculpted the armor we wear.
  9. Looks great Noel! It will be a good year for MEPD.
  10. not sure how public this is, but ATA is reworking molds to fix the size issue and put that to bed.
  11. I'd suggest upgrading from IE6 - even Google is dropping support for it and Microsoft would as well if it wasn't the browser that shipped with XP. IE8 and FF3.6 are free and both are far better on every level.
  12. Personally I find it best when the sounds comes out of the aerator speakers, and do have a garrison mate with it 100% self contained in his TE2 helmet (though he has a small head). An easier option is to borrow and idea from Stukatrooper - check it out on FISD: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10152 For the TD loop, it's posted here in the 501st only area. Not sure how other people do it, but most everyone in my garrison is putting this on a cheap mp3 player and using their radio on their pack.
  13. I think most try to go for the straight line look, and the split as you note is just below the belt. Also how it hangs can depend on your body - small or big butt. Personally I'm in the former and needed a little padding on mine to sit right. It certainly takes a little adjustment - at least it did for me - to get to sit correctly as you lose that rigidity a solid plate offers.
  14. Thumbs up! Well done sir

    Mr. Dirt

Awesome Rolf! Not only is the suit great, but you got it to really fit you well.
  16. You'd have to ping tupperwaretk@yahoo.com for current pricing.
  17. Yup, you betcha! Here is FISD's first EIB applicant using AM - it's pretty sweet http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10128 Unlike FX in the past, you can pretty much go EIB out of the box now with AM.
  18. If he wants the *most accurate* then TM is the way to go for sure. He should understand there is no such thing as a free lunch though. I've personally paid people to build armor for me (especially clones) and while they come out 90% done, there is always a small amount of fitting that still needs to be completed by oneself. Also TM can be very expensive depending on the exchange rate too. If TM is out of reach, then pretty much any TE derived armor should be fine (AP, TE2, ATA, etc.). Since they are all reverse engineered form the same ROTJ tour suite and all have been modified to some degree since, I'm not sure to what degree one wants to disputes the accuracy differences, and in my mind things like seller reputation, material, price, etc. become more of the deciding factors. Again, if money is no option you simply have to advise TM.
  19. Actually this is true for any TE derived armor : AP, TE, TE2, ATA, CAP-W etc. All are from the same base molds and all will be equally difficult to build for the reasons described. HIPS armor also requires painting, which can be a turn-off for some. OTOH, HIPS can certainly be easier to trim. I've not seen TM in person so can't say how it compares vs. a set that is designed to mate up easily like FX/RT vs. TE derived, but I'm sure Paul can comment on his own kit directly. I've seen FX fit guys 5'5" and barely over 100lbs, and TE armor be fitted to guys 6'4" 230lbs. Yes, some are more amenable to different body sizes, but the suit is only a part of the choice of what to buy. YMMV, as always...
  20. Looks good to me bro! Sling should be easy - you can get a pair of M1 Garand slings and link them together. Yeah, a bummer of one detail, but at least it's an easy one to fix
  21. Or, you can wait a week. It will be a new forum with a new skin, so might as well chill 'til then
