Rare Ammo Pouch Mp 18/mp28
dutchy replied to dutchy's topic in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories
My search wasn't over so I went on and on..this time I found this one.. This is in my opinion on of the closest things to the real deal for now. It's got the metal dot lock system and it measures 5 x 8 x 1 inches. It's an SS officer utility pouch..authentic.. This goes for a whopping $200,-.. Let me know if we hit the jackpot with this one.. -

That's what I've noticed too. Otherwise this could be it.. Thanks for pointing the difference out Bro'.. The dude that sells them only has these with the strap and not with the dot -

I know, especially with this gnarly inflation at the moment that's some serious money...I scratched the back of my head also a few times when I saw the selling price. -
Rare Ammo Pouch Mp 18/mp28
dutchy replied to dutchy's topic in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories
I know that the price is sky high, but it is an original. And I still don't know for sure if it's the real one. But when I look at the floorboards to have a slight impression of it's size it should be in the right direction. And if people start buying it, there will only be one happy trooper out there because I saw he had only one of it. I will see if I can get the measurements from this seller, because there are none placed with the pouch..only these pictures. -
I have been searching the net ever since I got word of the rare MP18/MP28 pouch in another topic. You see the Bergmann / Schmeisser MP18/MP28 had a major difference. The magazine for the MP18 was a snailhouse like drum( shaped like it) and the one for the MP28 looked more like the mag housings we know today but was also compatible with the MP18. Therefore I think that the pouch we are looking for is an MP28 one.. And guess what, no hits on that either. But guess what I found in a militaria shop..a pouch that looks a lot like the real deal. The only thing is that it said: Aiming cycle case... Ah well here you can see it... Let me know what you think of this.. Oh and one small other detail, since it's an original the seller asks $170,- excl.s/h

Sweet find you made there, but actually it's the 1st time I see that its a completly different pouch. I've been looking on the net straight away and man are those things hard to find. As Rolf already mentioned. I found out that the ammo pouch of it's "newer"model the MP28( Schmeisser), as for the magazines were identical. I have been looking for that also but no success either. Maybe because it was introduced in WW1 all the pouches went missing or lost, let's hope not. The only thing I found was a MP28 pouch for 2 magazines, here you can find it... http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php/products_id/290 It looks like it but it has seperate housings instead of one. I know in the part of the netherlands where I live that there a a few frantic ww1&2 collectors, because there has been some serious fighting in this area. So maybe I could drop by one of them one day..

that's true, but again it has a certain amount of bling bling to us...

Some good painting there Mike! Love the detailed work.. I helped my son a while with his Tomb Kings / Dark Elves/ Space marines and Chaos marines. He couldn't decide with which army he wanted to play, so he bought a lot of everything. But enough to play with each seperate race.. I did a few miniature Uruk-Hai as well. But my son doesn't play the game that much anymore but he won't let the lot go either.. Anywayz, this is a great way to improve painting skillz all the way

Personally I am rather satisfied with the new result but I will let you guys decide.. Before: After Before After So let me know what you make out of it.. And yes, I know I still have to trim the top of both my upper legs
