  1. Congrats to you...Commiserations to her
  2. hmmmmm mines abit er simplish to all the above,,,not saying theyre not good, but i did mine on the quick and cheap and theyve worked well for 3 yrs. a normal black belt around the waist,,,one peice each thigh of seat belt material, one end looped to go on belt the other hot glued inside of front seam at top of thigh. keeps em flush against my leg with little gap
  3. :o eeeek my heart just skipped 2 beats, thinking i had forgotten, only to realise, Fathers Days is celebrated on the first Sunday of September in Australia pheeeew
  4. alot of it is already here..as its been discussed before, just need to search the older topics... theres only one squad of six Sandtroopers sent to retrieve the plans from the pod and yes the same trooper appears several times. the location shots were filmed first, so the TDs were the first, the TKs shot in studio are a slight redesign of the TD suit, all things added are the things we remove to become a TD. all the Mos Eisley shots with the exception of exterior shots, are filmed in London on a soundstage, the cantina, alley way, laneway leading to, outside and inside of docking bay 94 are all the same trooper the location trooper "someone was in the pod,the tracks go off in this direction" is meant to show a rank structure and is meant to be the same trooper that is in the studio shots. However the orange is shorter than the white, in this publicity shot the orange is in the foreground, not single file, as the location TDs were paid locals, hence the old 'afro' pics floating about, whereas the studio TDs are all english extras and all are an approx equal height the best indication of the stature of the Tunisians versus English The Sandtrooper armour is identical, as GL isnt going to leave it on location. The locals biceps almost completely disappear under their shoulder bells, whereas the armour in London fits as it should
  5. yep unless ya buying licenced merch,,ebay is the place, as its usually cheaper than the shops,,but id stay away from homemade stuff, especially as there is a ton of more reliable and pertenient info here and on other forums that deal with whatever SW stuff you need or want
  6. mine was coated in a heavy layer of spray on glue and the contents of a mates rural backyard thrown all over it. once it was left in the sun for 10min shook the majority of it off and presto, instant filth. Never been known to do anything in 'half measures' that was 2008,below is 2010, still looks the part
  7. I, initially, painted mine matt black to get rid of the glare and visual distraction of the white interior...after getting a black nose in a rush, lined it with black gaffa tape and as 'real-life' always gets in the way.. its been that way ever since it has always had a hard hat liner in it, head fits snugly, as its a 4yo AP bucket, but the liner keeps it in place. only moves when i move my head the white gaffa tape is a short term fix to keep my mic in place, of course having said the first lot of gaffa tape is 4 yo,,ask me in another 4 yrs if the white is still in, and chances are...it will be 2 computer fans behind each aerator moves air around to stop condensation forming. as with theatre and movies, as long as it looks right on the outside, the interior mish mash is irrelevant...of course i use the K.I.S.S. method
  8. pics tell it better than i can say but i do scrub the shiny surface OFF If you live in your armour and id say they would, and work in an arid environment on a planet in a binary system..your armour would be sunbleached and bone-like in appearance,, oh and i dont dissapear in 'flash' photography
  9. zoinks....i noticed that the first time 30,,coff..few years ago also,,,the "roadblock scene" is in the exact same spot as the TD spins round to see the Falcon fly out of DB94, and what you cant see in that scene (obscured by foreground TD) are ALL the TDs that are supposed to be in DB94 are standing further down the lane
  10. I could do that for you Nol...but i probably wont see Greg until SupaNova next year,,,and there could be the slimest of chances I will have drank myself to oblivion 15minutes after i get your money
  11. sweet,,,,composer or TK....i only know of one name who played any trooper and thats Antony Forrest. I have always been intrigued to know who they are
  12. Hollywood actor Dennis Hopper has died at his home in California at the age of 74 after battling prostate cancer. The star passed away at his house in the coastal Los Angeles suburb of Venice surrounded by family and friends. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Hopper appeared alongside his mentor James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause and Giant. He was best known for starring in the 1969 cult classic Easy Rider, for which he received an Oscar for the movie's original screenplay. The film is regarded as one of the greatest films of American cinema. The low-budget blockbuster, orginally conceived by Peter Fonda, introduced mainstream moviegoers to pot smoking, cocaine dealing and long haired bikers. "We'd gone through the whole '60s and nobody had made a film about anybody smoking grass without going out and killing a bunch of nurses," Hopper said in 2005. "I wanted 'Easy Rider' to be a time capsule for people about that period." Hopper and Fonda were joined on screen by a then-unknown Jack Nicholson as an alcoholic lawyer. Other cult classics included Apocalypse Now and Blue Velvet. Hopper fell ill last September but continued working for months on his TV series Crash and on a book showcasing his photography. In late March, he did attend the ceremony unveiling his own star on the Hollywood Boulevard, flanked by some of the many screen legends he worked with over a career spanning nearly half a century. "Everyone here today that I've invited and obviously some that I haven't invited have enriched my life tremendously," Hopper said. "They've shown me a world that I would never have seen being a farm boy from Dodge City, Kansas, and learning things I would never have learned," he added. Hopper married five times but his final months had been consumed by a bitter divorce battle with his fifth wife Victoria Duffy. He is survived by four children What a great loss..an actor with a unique style and humour in his acting, he will be missed

  14. only one problem,, is if its a simultaneous event,, you guys get to see it in the US at 3pm and the rest of us get to see it at 3am AND on different days, but the same time. sometimes i wish the world reeeeally was FLAT!!
  15. that is cool...but sorry mate i actually meant this one
  16. lovin the MEPD Banner in the previous post,,,likely to be made available...maybe a flag version?
  17. When i had my BFG,i had trooped at "canon" events without my pack, as long as i carried the BFG..as the Docking Bay 94 doesnt have a pack. once myself and a mate "reinvented" my existing and never worn, heavy pack, and i sold my BFG, i never troop without it...lighter and it just 'makes' the ensemble
  18. eeerrmmm,,,is it just me ..but i can only see one large breasted TD in your pic
  19. hehehehe i thought about putting Sandy Duncan up (oooolala, well she was when i was younger lol) but i thought, no one would probably remember her (showin our ages ) Thanks mate, agree, it looks angry...of course i cant repeat what i was muttering to myself at the time, trying to look thru a waterfall on the inside, walking in the heat of the day,,,like 92F. I find the best pics are when you dont know theyre being taken ..like these ones
