  1. Happy Birthday my friend and teacher!
  2. Nice job on the backpack and beautiful weathering. I don't see how you are not ready for deployment. I better work on my application too! Thanks for sharing.
  3. I'm interested too! A question you might encounter later, as for the missing inner barrel, are you going to leave it empty or add something inside to give it strength? My plan was to use a clear plastic pipe as the inner barrel. Thanks for sharing.
  4. I have been waiting you would do a backpack tutorial and now its happening! I could use this to build myself another one. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Most amazing piece of craft! I so regret not going to Japan and probably be one of the first sandtroopers to get a pic with your masterpiece. Wish you success debut in Japan and I have no doubt it will be the highlight of the show. Thanks for sharing.
  6. This is the ultimate prop I've seen here. I hope one day I get too see it in real. Just feel so proud to become a sandtrooper and honored I'm with a group of people so dedicated to their hobby. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Amazing! I agree this is the best work done. Would be nice to wrap up the tutorial with you in the suit before I fall in love with your mannequin. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I always like to see fanmade stuff. To me they are personal interpretations of the real stuff, unique and interesting in each own way. I can see a lot of hard work has gone into yours and I truly respect you for that. My buddy has just got one and now I can't wait to see it! Thanks for sharing.
  9. Happy 24 again Mike! Thanks for bringing joy to my world of costuming.
  10. Freaking awesome! Hope you don/t drive like you are making armor man. Are you still going to polish it with all the painted details? Thanks for sharing.
  11. I'm researching on the mg-15 too. Are you planning to build one? What method and materials are you using?
  12. Nice job! Never seen this way of weathering before. Looks a bit like corroded metal. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Awesome! This is the kind of thread I like to read. I got a Rubies Boba Fett for my boy and made the blaster using a toy cowboy rifle and a torchlight. I made the rocket with styrofoam and he painted it. Maybe I will try the paper mache to preserve the rocket. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Just like you bro, I love my Cushman too! I think you are looking for this: Thanks for looking!
  15. Just in time for my next weathering job. I'll be trying this. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Looks like a beautiful day for outdoor trooping. The T-21 looks so good I'm tempted to get another cushman now! Thanks for sharing.
  17. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of enquires came in and surprised that many troopers are showing interest in building their own backpack. Just to share with those who are interested, now SethB is offering molded parts for the backpack. It is a rare opportunity so don't miss it. Thanks for looking!
  18. WOW WOW WOWWWW!!!!! Can you hear me yelling and everyone turned to look at me? Could it be the photography now the painted helmet and the unpainted armor looks no difference to me? Is it the same in real too? Maybe is the way you applied so well the weathering it camouflaged the original "bluish" tint in the raw plastic of the body armor. This one awesome piece of work for the museum. Thanks for sharing! PS: If you have hi-res pics let me know where i can download them.
  19. Sad news is my helmet is painted. I realised I must continue to paint the whole suit otherwise the color won't match. Maybe I will check out the auto shop. Only if you have came up with this topic earlier... Anyway please post bigger pics when you finished redoing the armor. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Wow I'm surprised with your in-depth explanation you sounded like a professor! You've been a great help and I'm going to try your method. Btw, could you comment on both the AP and the TE2? Now that you have all the major armor makes in your collection, is there a clear winner? Thanks for sharing!
  21. From the pic I can hardly tell the difference. If acetone really works then I must try it. I simply don't think any kind of paint even Humbrol will stick permanently without any chipping or flaking. One stupid question, if I ask the hardware store would they know what acetone is? What is acetone commonly used for? Thanks for the tip bro!
  22. Never seen you looked so clean before! Time to do the dirty thing. You move too fast I totally missed out on your strapping technique. I can't believe you troop it so soon. How does it feel with the fresh paint smell in the bucket? Since you wore the suit, do you mind a brief comparison between the TE2 and TM? So far I know you are the only lucky ******* who owns both. Fantastic work bro! Thanks for sharing.
  23. Thanks Rolf I can really use your analysis on the different types of paint and save me the trouble of going through them myself. The level of dedication you put in your work is something I need to learn. Thanks for sharing.
