  1. I got mine and started working on it. Happy so far! I'm getting around to the point where I am going to have to drill the holes in the resin for the PVC pipes that are sticking out. Two questions: 1- Should I trim the PVC to a specific length where it sticks out....say 1 or 2"? 2- What would be the best way to drill 1/2" holes in the resin to mate up with the male PVC parts? I don't want to crack anything or cut a crooked hole. Thanks, Steve
  2. Thanks for the good ideas. I never knew that rank was displayed this way. Is there a decoder anywhere that explains the ranks? Steve
  3. OK, I've been searching through the posts looking to see what is correct. Now I am confused because I've seen lids painted both ways. Does the grey teardrops and/or the grey trapezoids around the top of the helmets get black pinstripes or left plain grey? In addition, is any black applied to the features on the ears? I've seen some outlined in black and different variations of the "ribs" painted black. What is right???? Thanks, Steve
  4. Have a great time. I just got back from SD. I left some girls for you in the gas light district.
  5. Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you put into this thread. I will definitely use it when the time comes. Steve
  6. Are they still charging him? I can't get over the fact they consider a prop blaster a real firearm. That is completely stupid....from a law enforcement perspective. The prosecutor should have the stones to throw it out! Steve
  7. Hey, Now this is a **** good idea! Would be a nice compliment to any tutorial to have a video *WINK WINK*
  8. Did you fit yours in your helmet? Would they fit in an AP lid? Looks sweet!
  9. If you really want to start now, I would stick to building and detailing helmets, backpacks and prop guns. You will begin developing your skills, learn from your mistakes, and begain to realize how expensive this hobby is without having to dump a ton of cash on a kit. I agree with the other guys though, cars and girls will get you farther than ancient light sabers and hokey religions. Girls are better than a good blaster, kid!
  10. As a police officer, I also agree that charging that guy was a load of crap. Thank God it wouldn't fly here in Arizona. We have a specific definition for a firearm and pretty loose carry laws. Unless you are a prohibited possessor or under 18-Years-old, you can strap a loaded gun on your hip and walk around all day or drive around with it in plain view in your car. You do need a permit to carry a concealed gun though. Go figure. Steve
  11. There is an operational B-17 stationed at Falcon Field Air Field here in Mesa Arizona. She flies over my house often. You can't confuse the sound of those 4 engines - AWESOME. Once or twice a year you can pay to ride in her for about 20 minutes....at about $400 or $450.00 a crack. Shure would be nice though as there are only like 6 or 8 B-17's still flying in the whole US....16 world-wide I believe During WWII, Falcon Field was a flight training base for RAF pilots. http://www.arizonawingcaf.com/
  12. Might have been one of those space "worm holes"
  13. Thanks Rocko! Looks like the photo links are dead, but the text is fantastic. I might have to PM Clutch for some scans. After looking at a pic or two, I think I already trimmed too much off of the wrist side of the hand pieces.
  14. Sweet Tutorial. I will definitely use this. Hopefully this will get archived when the time comes. Ahem, Seth?
  15. Welcome aboard. These guys and at least 1 gal here on this site can point you in the right direction (Especially when it comes to accuracy).
  16. I'm trying to find a good building thread regarding trimming AP armor. I don't want to take too much off. I was unable to find clutch's building thread on the other web site listed above. I'm primarily trying to find out if the curve is left on the edges of the pieces or if the edges are sanded flat. I know that probably doesn't make any sense as it is hard to explain. I'm speaking specifically about the arm and leg pieces, but I am also curious about the large torso parts and hand pieces too. I need a drink
  17. Thanks! Thats what makes you the master
  18. I still recommend buying them from the fellow in the UK. I got mine from him and am very pleased. Good sculpt, nice price, fast delivery to the US, good service. You just can't beat a good thing.
