PNerves
I did my first test fit this weekend and it ended in tears. I had a few essential rivets give out, some glued stuff pop, and some major soft connection issues. Not a good armor day, so I had to share it with you. Sorry. TD-1536
yeap... test fitting can take a while, and it's essential to get out of the way. Nothing is more embarrassing than having an equipment malfunction during a trooping event.

Daetrin
Actually it's good that you're experiencing this at home. At my very first event - the first time I'd fully put on my armor - I had no less than five "wardrobe malfunctions" that I was fortunately rescued from by my brothers in arms. It's just part of this stuff being plastic, glue and rivets. On my last event the little ammo belt thing on my right thigh popped a rivet just as I was packing up, and I had to quickly drill out the head and put a new one in before leaving home. It seems a bit dramatic now, but the great part is that the more you wear and mod your armor the more comfortable you'll be in making fixes in the field, and with that confidance it won't be so frightening a prospect. roman_imperial
Count me in on this LOL It was halloween I had just put my new leather ammo pouch on my belt and rigged up my new handbacks, so this was the first time out and ya you guess it....the pouch popped off in the trunk on the way and the hand backs fell off during the party!!! But the upside, my new pack held up to all the abuse of being bumped and knocked around. Now I just have to fix those for next weeks troop It's ok Paul we love you!!!!! PNerves
I know this is all part of the process, and I already have fixes in mind, but I have to say, the problems really knocked me down several pegs. Thanks for the pep talk, troops!

avatar_man
I had some trouble with my calf armor spinning on me. My legs have a lot of muscle on the outside of the calf, so I added some insualtion grade foam strips horizontally and that stps the rotation... roman_imperial
I had a terrible time with my thigh pieces always slipping down, so I added to the belt set of suspenders because the belt alone just wasn't working. It works pretty well now. Does adding the foam to keep them from twisting make those pieces a bit hotter to wear??? And are you talk about the foam weather stipping for that? avatar_man
..I saw no difference... But then again, I haven't been in 100 degree trooping yet..
TD-352
My first outing in my TK armor I only had one slight malfunction, knee plate came off. And that was really amazing. I had the armor "somewhat together" before I arrived, but with 45 min to go before the opening parade my armor was not wearable by any means. I had one guy in my garrison that helped me out and we got it ready and I marched in the parade. Thank the maker it was at a con and a short walk. There are guys in every garrison that can fix anything, they are good to have as friends.
