tk0580
*insert exasperated sigh* Ok, so over the last 4 years, all these "Original Screen-used molds" helmets have popped up. Here is another one! Check out e-bay at item number: 8729940156 Some company in Germany appearently. whats the deal? Might there be any truth to this, or is it a recast off of someone from here? -Jason the confused
RoCKo
i know the helmet from movie-fx, i´ve seen them while i got me armor. i cannot say if it is a recast of any of the well known most screenaccurate helmets like TE or GF... i think it is a lot more accurate than the standart fx helmet, but it cannot reach the TE helmet or the GF or maybe the recast of them like authenticprops or other... maybe i find some more pictures of this helmet so the experts can say more... DONT SUPPORT RECASTERS!
tk0580
I dont support recasters either, that is why I was asking here to see if anyone knew if this was authentic or just a good new mold they are trying to pass as authentic. If you could drum up more info, I would really appreciate that. As it is, Im saving up for a suit from a certain someone here, its gonna take me a while, but well worth it. My biggest concern with all these new "origional screen used molds" is that they tend to be recasts of said awesome Expert thats here! Thanks! -Jason
tk0580
UPDATE This helmet is a Movie FX helmet. cool. At least this gentleman is an honest dealer, very cool. -Jason
TD-1536
Unless Movie FX has stumbled upon a new previously unknown source, or is recasting, the 'well known' Movie FX helmet looks nothing like that. http://web.ukonline.co.uk/bingo275/Anson_GermanMovFX2.jpg http://web.ukonline.co.uk/bingo275/Anson_GermanMovFX.jpg
tk0580
hmmmm... the pics you posted look nothing like the helmet on auction.... I dont know what to thikn anymore. Im keeping my nose out of it -Jason
RoCKo
it is definatly a MOVIE-FX helmet! it´s not like the well known helmet they sold for years. the helmet in the auction is the new generation helmet the sell now as a anh-version! look on www.movie-fx.de or drop them a mail... Too Much Garlic
i think it is a lot more accurate than the standart fx helmet, but it cannot reach the TE helmet or the GF or maybe the recast of them like authenticprops or other...Am I wrong in saying this publicly? But I was under the impression that authenticprops wasn't recasting GFs helmets... maybe I shouldn't say more in an open forum... And: aren't the Movie-FX armor based on the RotJ armor? troopermaster
I dont think Authentic Props helmet is anything like a GF,but the armour is close. I've talked to MFX several times through emails and he claims to have bought an ANH suit in the late 90's.He showed me pics but it was an ROTJ recast. Now I haven't compared them to TE's ROTJ armour,as I don't have any good pics of it and I don't know where he could have got it from?He wouldn't say either! All the movie sized helmets are recasts that are available IMO.And there is no such thing as 'cast from original' ANH armour. What gets me too about ebay sellers is this 'cast from original ANH helmet' when it's BS.There's only one person that can honestly say that AFAIK,the rest are a recast of a recast and each time they are copied they slip further away from the original too. End of rant. -Paul.
TK7209
Am I right in thinking that the Authentic props armour is now called ABS 80? Or am I getting confused with something else?
tk0580
Never heard of either "Authentic Props" or "ABS 80" Do they have websites? I always like to compare armour (especially those claiming authentic ANH) -Jason
SethB6025
I don't think Authenticprops has (or had) a website. I was under the impression he was done, but very recently heard otherwise. (?)
Daetrin
While there's a good lineage site in the UK showing the "family tree", is there one for armor too, e.g. who derived from who?
tk0580
what's that website?

trooperexpert
Anon is TE! Das me! The armor from germany is crap. Soft details and ripped off my helmet. He owes a TON of people money for non deloivered items.. Steer clear of Guidon and all his cronies selling for him on ebay... TE
tk0580
well Im glad thats cleared up! Thanks TE. I didnt know you were this "anon", small world! Well ,that would make the helmet collection that much smaller to complete! lol -Jason
SethB6025
I would also avoid Movie FX if possible, he has a bad track record. Of the two people I know that ordered stuff from him, they both got ripped off.
tk0580
Ripped off like they pay and nothing is delivered, or bad pulls/broken parts? Thats horrible
Too Much Garlic
Anon is TE! Das me! I did not know that either. I learn something new every day. I was wondering though, why you weren't mentioned at all at Jez's site... now I know!
trooperexpert
Actually I am not mention on jiz's site because he is a moron and I refuse to have my name associated with his site and his affiliation with SDS studios. Simple as that... TE
SethB6025
Ripped off as in never recieved items. They had to file claims w/ their CC companies. They both got their money reimbursed eventually. (not from guidon, but from Visa or whoever)
