sportsanchor
Hello all, I'm ready to "get dirty". But I need some help and guidance from a few of you. What the best tutorial you've used? I don't want the paint to stick. I may want to eventually remove it. What should I buy? I'm in desperate need of some assistance or links to tutorials. Thanks, TK-1044 Midwest Garrison
Daetrin
I used the gude on the Dented Helmet - http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/davin/replica_weathering.htm I was able to find the Woodlands paints at the local hobby store. Following the tutorial was surprisingly easy and also quite fun.
TD257
Poster (tempera) paints are water soluble and come off with little effort. They're easily found at just about any arts and crafts store, and they're generally pretty inexpensive.
sportsanchor
Okay! I will be getting "dirty" very soon. I purchased the "Woodland Scenics" Earth Paints. As well as the "Fuller's" Earth Tan & Gray paints. My next question is, has anybody gone "clean" after going "dirty"? Many people say it's easy to wipe these paints off the armor, but has anybody actually done it? Do you just use a wet rag? I'm sure that once you go "dirty" you never go back. But if I'm asked to troop at an event which only wants stormtroopers, I may want to "clean-up" for that event... then go "dirty" again. Thoughts? SethB6025
Most will come off with water alone, windex will take off what's left. Then, you could (shudder) polish your armor to make it super-spiffy.
Daetrin
Yeah, but you'd still stand out with your modified ab plate, different knee plate, lack of drop boxes, and lack of rear cannister, different decals, etc. Unless you have spares... sportsanchor
I still have the Stormtrooper ab-plate... complete with the drop boxes. I also have the rear cannister... I just don't use them cause I've gone "sandy" on appearances lately.
