GosHawk
Hey all I've been posting over at the FISD with my build but since this is going to be a TD I figured I should start one over here so I can get some advice. Bucket...painted but no decals yet. http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab72/Ki...icture009-1.jpg http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab72/Ki...icture012-1.jpg it's me! http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab72/Ki...icture004-1.jpg ok people at the fisd have been saying I trimmed a bit to much on the chest. I want to get some more opinions from you guys. Any tips and tricks would help me a lot. Since lukes armor was trimmed a bit higher I might be able to salvage it. Dont have the funds to get a replacement just yet
FIVE
Hey man, lookin' good! A couple of suggestions... 1) trim the left ear down a bit more. It looks like it still has the "flair" on the edge. Something like this... 2) the chest is cut a bit high I think... sorry to say... BUT, I think it's salvageable! Especially because you seem to have a relatively "short" torso. My suggestion is to cut the edges off a bit more still. That will make the "groove" cut into the middle look smaller. (that is what is making it look like too much now.) Sort of like this... And, if you're doing this as a TD then there's really nothing to worry about. Dirtying the armor up, having the pauldron, pouches and pack will all "distract" from anything like that anyway. But... even if you're doing a white TK I think trimming it down on the edges like that will help. If you want to get really fancy then you can "bend" the edge in a bit to give it "thickness" again. But don't worry about that unless you're confident. Better to fix what you can and leave what you can't. Just keep looking at reference pictures... measure twice (or 200 times is good too) and cut once. And most of all, HAVE FUN!!!
GosHawk
update....I will need to sand it a bit more but this is at least where I got the trimming done. http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab72/Ki...o12/Picture.jpg
