iconoclasta_88
Hi Rolf, how are you doing bro? Have a question here... So, its clear why you dont paint your armors and its sounds correct to me, but, can I ask you to explain a bit your hairspray technique when you get to that part of the process? Im very interested in this approach, sounds like a great way to do it. Thanks bro. Saludos...

(i used the spanish Montana spray paint, and took it off again whit acitone) I try: Motip. Belton. Montana. Quick. None of them was strong enough, the paint came off. I think Krylon from the US is stronger, then the brands we got here, but still not 100%. I once got a TE2 spray krylon painted helmet, and the paint could also come off. To go crazy, i would maybe brush paint a full TE2 kit whit Humbrol gloss white. You can get them in 50ml bootles, and i guess it will be the strongest choice, but still not 100%. Therefor i deside, not to paint the matt white hips TE2 suit. And i must say i´m 100% happy for the looks of it. The hair spray make the suit a bit gloss, but not high gloss. And make the sandtrooper, nice and used in its look. It real easy, just spray the hair spray all over the suit/parts/helmet, when you have add the weathering on. I used this one here: http://images.google.dk/imgres?imgurl=http...l%3Dda%26sa%3DG

Rolf
Looking great as usual !!! Did the helmet come with brass screws? I understand they are the most accurate..... Yes there was screws to the kit. The accurate TE2 screws are in gold, i use my own in silver. They are in the same size and shape 100% but a bit longer, so its more easy to add the ears on quick. Rolf
Weathering time . Here you see the suit. I will make the look sir droids trooper as good as i can (white sergeant pauldron). I think its hard to say/see, how dirty he really is. Here he looks mad dirty: But on these pictures, taken at the same time, he looks not as dirty: Cheers
Rolf
Another thing: We know the first shots ever made in ANH of the imperial troops, was of the sandtroopers. I´m pretty sure the first shots was taken in the desert. The pod check/the tracks beling in these directions/look sir droids scene... Here you see them before the weathering: Here in progress: And the gang:
Rolf
One last thing. To me it seems like there are all most no weathering on the: Back packs. Pouches. Helmets. In the desert scene, most of the helmets got the weathering. But on the later made shot, aka the road block. Most of the weathering has come off: Clean pack: Clean pauldron, and all most clean helmet too: Any way... I will go after this look, aka the look sir droid look. Here it only seems like, its the pack, and pouches there are pretty clean. The only parts i will not add weathering on, is my weapon and pouches. Cheers .
