Ghost
Today I was lucky to receive my assembled Laws helmet in the post. Cheers Dan It is so shiny and has sharp detailing. I was curious to compare it to some of my other lids as others have stated that there are differences between other helmets. I think to a point this may be due to assembly. I do not feel my cap is as tall as others seen but the face does appear flared. I do like the flared face plate and have therefore compared it with my TE ABS which also has the flared look. I have also added my Set For Stun as comparison: Just have to find the time to paint this up and replicate it on an idealised Set For Stun, though not as quick as Rolf at doing these
TD-1536
The one on the far right is amazing! Looks like the real-deal.
Ghost
The one on the far right is amazing! Looks like the real-deal. Yes I received the TE FG 'Set For Stun' lid already painted up, and is one of my favorites in my collection.
Rolf
Ha ha you can do it bro. It can not take more then a week (the speedy trooper... i´m ) Any way, a big congratulations whit your new rare Dan Laws helmet. I really love mine too. I have sold my TE2 helmets here. But i think i will get a new one. So i have both versions: Dave M/Brian R helmets. They are all most the same, but still not: 1. The skull seems more round a like on the Dave M, then the Brain R. 2. The helmet are more pointy, and therefor smaller holes in the mic tip area, then the Brian R. 3. The right side tube are more slim, then Brian R. 4. The back cap tube, is a bit more round out going, then the Brian R... 5. The two painted grey areas, in the ends of the bow trim. Are longer from each other, if you look on top of it, and therefor harder to see L/R looking at the front. There one are all most 2 cm longer forward, then the other one. So its harder, to place the face plate in the right place, then the Brian R. Just to name a few.
troopermaster
I would be tempted to re-assemble it, using your TE-SFS for reference, that helmet is absolutely gorgeous! Dan seems to make the chin stick out too much when he assembles these helmet. The forehead on the face looks okay, just the side tubes need to go up into the helmet more in my opinion, to make it look more like the Dave M. Nice aquisition Scott

Cheers Paul, yes I will be re-assembling it before I paint all the detailing. Although ABS I want to get it as accurate as possible to the SFS. Rolf
You got it bro. The Dan Laws/Dave M helmet is mad nice, one of the best out there. But i think its a much harder helmet to put together good, vs. the TE/Brian R helmet we know off. Cheers mate
Art Andrews
I have to agree with others that the paint job on the FG helmet REALLY makes it stand out!

Ghost
Re-positioned the faceplate and it sits better now, have some minor adjustments to the ears to do , but thought I would post up some pics of the adjustments. I have tried to replicate my Set for Stun lid for positioning: And a comparison of the adjustment from my first pics:
nice-biscuit
The Laws looks better with the chin in for sure. Nice TE STS.
Madmartigan
Much better, Ghost! I may have to do the same with my DL when i get it, since it seems they are all being assembled with the jutting chin. Shave a little off the ears and that will be one sharp looking bucket!
AJCG
Hey Scott, now it is looking perfect , those minor changes you did repositioning the mask helped a lot. Congrats my friend. A
troopermaster
Looks better Scott but..... ....I still think it needs more to make it resemble the SFS, so I took the liberty of doing a bit of work in PS and tilted the face in a touch more, repositioned the ear cap to tilt backwards and trimmed off some of the back tube where the neck trim will attach. TKDUEUNO
That's exactly what I'd do on that helmet, Paul! I'm eager to see those modifications applied and new shots from the front.
