slave1pilot
I am by no means any kind of expert on anything, But I think the seperate top cap & back piece seem odd The "real" TK helmets are one piece in the back Maybe it was cobbled together by the prop team He does have several items that seem very authentic who knows, could be
RoCKo
that´s a prototype helmet made by A.Ainsworth. i think it was sold at Christies a couple of years back... please visit Jez´s website and klick on "Real Original Helmets" and then on "Overview of ANH Stormtrooper Armor and Helmets"... tons of information... KLICK HERE!
Rolf
Yeah i have seen it on Jez´s lovely site too. Its the same pictures, on Jez site as used on the swedish owners site. I have seen it a few times in real life, so he owns the helmet. It makes good sense, that it was sold to him in 2002. It was around 2004 i saw it. I guess the helmet he owns, is the same one seen on Jez site and sold in 2002. And therefor a real prototype made back then by AA. If you need more info, go: www.starwarshelmets.com And look under: The "Real" Stormtrooper Helmets & Armor Here is another shot, of another prototype by AA. Cheers. Productions
Are you sure it isn’t the space-Stormtrooper prototype helmet. I had a look at some pictures not so long back and there is a different variant of Stormtrooper when the flacon lands in the death star, any chance this was originally going to be used for that shot? Pappy
Agreed....spacetroopr has a 'behind the scene' picture with an actor(bucket off)somewhere, though you can see it clearly that it was the 'stunt' and no ribbed tubes Have you guys ever seen the spacepack made by japaneese sculptor? i think its accurate Hi rocko

Billhag
Pappy Ralph McQuarrie's concept paintings and drawings was the inspiration for most of the costumes for the original trilogy, including sandtroopers As I said in my earlier post, Rolf's pictures are of Andrew Ainsworth's cobbled together helmets that were never part of any of the Star Wars films, and definitely not a 'space trooper' helmet of any kind. Now is the helmet thats in Rolf's garrison a 'prototype / concept' helmet?, well all the auction houses that sold them at the time were happy to portray them as such, because Mr Ainsworth was the person who vac-formed the 56 helmets for the original film. Was the public aware of all the facts regarding these helmets at the time?, good question . I personally think it was a case of 'smoke and mirrors' They may not have lied about what they were selling but they didn't give the details of the bigger picture. As the saying goes Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware
dutchy
oh yeah....both are the same guy right? forgot where i rad that is the first concept bucket can be called as Mcquarrie's concept? (you know...wioth umm...lightsabers and shield one) I'm guessing you read it in the making of starwars book, that's where you see the drawing/ sketch of the stormtroopers waiting around the corner, to ambush a "bearded han solo and friends", holding a shield and a lightsaber too bro'.. Daetrin
Here are the pix of the pack - sorry they were taken this AM and not last PM.
Pappy
Wow I like it man, very similar with the spacepack,well....um it is the spacepack, nice aquisition paul can see it clearly bro,how it attached or mount? Like a good ol' sandy? Holla bill ,oh yes how can I forget,AA's on the 1st picture, with 3 separate parts I guess after Mcquarrie's drawings are done. Now that's a hard part, awareness, sometimes we don't have patience to do that, too much of the 'darkside' perhaps? By the way,is that yours?! Holla J,yes I'm torchering my english capabilities to read that,a good book the making of starwars is If you're on the corner, don't with a lightsaber, but with your 'GUN' watercooled ones for a hot touch.
