freakengine
Yep! That's right! It finally arrived, despite the best efforts of the royal mail to return it to TM. Here's a few pics right outta the box. It's time to commence with the mods!

freakengine
nice bucket and the size looking much bigge than all the other anh helmets on the market wish to see a side by side pic with an TE or AP or whatelse If that's true, I wouldn't be able to fit my big melon into an AP or TE helmet. I can just barely squeeze into this one!
Daetrin
nice bucket and the size looking much bigge than all the other anh helmets on the market wish to see a side by side pic with an TE or AP or whatelse If that's true, I wouldn't be able to fit my big melon into an AP or TE helmet. I can just barely squeeze into this one! In reality each individual bucket fits a bit differently room-wise. I have to squeeze the sides of my AP to get it on. I can't get TK2802's TE2 on at all. OTOH, I can get my TE2 on easily w/o any squeezing at all - it's actually quite roomy. Go figure! I think a lot depends on how it's assembled & how much of the neck is cut away. freakengine
Thanks guys. TM's sculpt is truly top notch in my book. Looking good! You mentioned mods, what all are you planning to do with it? Well, to make this guy into a troopable sandy, I plan on the following: -reinforce chin area (there's a small crimp where the plastic on the chin is thin...a little reinforcement should fix that right up and prevent further damage) -paint out the hash marks -glue mesh under the frown holes -dirt, dirt, and more dirt! -install foam liner -install mic and reassess where the electronics can live in my pouches -install a pair of Keith's hovi mix mic tips -install a fan and switch (if I can make it fit) -replace green gel with welder's face shield material (for sanity - sorry TM) And only a few weeks til C4! Scooter
Nice Helmet Freakengine. I noticed the 5th tooth has been cut out was this intentional to match a certain helmet?
freakengine
I noticed the 5th tooth has been cut out was this intentional to match a certain helmet? AFAIK, TM cuts out the fifth tooth on most of his ANH helmets because his pulls are very sharp. It appears that the original ANH molds had five indentations, but some of the pulls were too soft for the fifth one to be apparent. I believe I downloaded this pic from Jez's site, starwarshelmets.com, so I'll pull it if you'd like, Jez, but it clearly shows how randomly the originals were cut out. Some had the fifth tooth cut out, others didn't. Like I said, I think it depended on each pull.
Scooter
Cool It's a great helmet and even though I've that pic before I hadn''t reallly noticed that the 5th tooth had been cut out on quite a few. Just goes to show that three, four or Fiive teeth cut out is fine..
