Yup and i also heated the face plate up till my hair dryer burned out LMAO! I was trying to get the face plate to match the ANH hero promo pic's. Nice work! It stinks being real close to a project, it always looks like it needs work to you, looks the business to everyone else. I feel your pain I guess your right seth, right now i see the tube strips have to be redone, the ear caps need to be repainted, have to repaint the decals ect.. ect... Bravo!! looks great, nice lenses. Burt Landcaster
Well i was woken up by the Door bell today ( i work the night shift) anyway I got my humbeol paint gloss Admiralty Grey #5. and to my surprize it seems a bit on the light side? but i have compared it to some pic's. Some pictures the color matchs up and others it dosent? maybe a few more coats later might give a darker look?.... Might have to paint it all over again as i see some mistakes in the teeth
SethB6025
Mix it with a toothpick, mine was very settled when I got it. It'll get about a shade darker after you mix it.
Burt Landcaster
I used a small pin befor painting as well as shaking it. Maybe i will have to give it a bit more of a shake next time i start paining again.
TD-4935
Humbrol tends to darken ever so slightly with each coat (not by much but it is noticable). it is fairly certain that humbrol#5 was used for the movie lids. alternatively i think Testors grey #1138 has been suggested. rather fitting i would say.
