First build - Weathering my Sandtrooper

Hey everyone! So after posting my progress on the FISD, I was directed here for any specialised assistance throughout my Sandtrooper build. 

I've been following all the guides and videos I could find that involved weathering with painting helmets as close as I could. Though after looking at it for a while, I might remove some more of that acrylic before sealing it up. Idk, would this be considered too heavily weathered for 501st approval?

Although on my mobile phone, the pics are a little distorted, I like the weathering, looks good.

If you have used acrylic paint for the weathering, I wouldn't seal it with a clearcoat, just in case you should decide to go for level 3/SWAT and want to change the weathering to match a specific trooper.

I would recommend toning down the yellow but you are on the right track.

Weathering is always personal but we prefer the less is more look and also the natural look. The way dirt accumulates in a natural way.

I would also say tone down the yellow a bit and be carefull with acryllic paints. Personally I would advise colors from the woodland scenic range.

It looks like you've sandied the lenses too?

It looks nice and Sandy, but with already limited visibility, you may want to keep them clean, just so you can see...

He's taking it to the next level, hyper realistic, having survived the sandstorm, sand on the outside, fogged up on the inside, zero visibility... just make sure you don't trip over some younglings on the first troop

I use my tip of my toes as a sweep since I can't see anything from my waist down right in front of me.

If that's just paint, I think that looks really good....It looks natural, no hard edges.

And yeah, that's just the tape I put over where the lenses go to stop any paint from getting inside the helmet. I had already glued in my padding and hardhat liner at this point and didn't want to struggle to clean it all out you see.

I like it better. Great job. Weathering is always a personal preference; but echoing the boss: “less is more” (echooo... echooo... echooo...).
