gino Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Vader was the first costume I ever tried to replicate. 'Move Along' sandtrooper was the second. So it was EXTREMELY satisfying to finally have one put together that I was happy with after all this time. Still need to make a couple minor tweaks because I ran out of time trying to get him together for the show. The morning of the first day of Celebration, I woke up at 4am and weathered the entire suit. And since I had forgotten the paper towels in storage, I had to use hotel room tissues! True story. I want to give a shout of thanks for all the people who helped with one part or another. Strider for his awesome seed trays and karrimore frame, RS for their found item mushroom caps, karrimore pack straps, and fantastic Tunisia E-11 build, and Blaster for his MP40 hip pouch replica. Also thanks for all the support from all the guys here who put up with me while trying to bang this out, Woody, RS, Strider, Rolf looking at you guys. I hope you guys like it as much as I do. . 4 Quote
henselmonster Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I'm pretty sure I spent about an hour staring at this during celebration. It's fantastic. Great job Quote
RoCKo Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 You did it again, Gino! That's once more a proof of your extensive research, knowledge and craftsmanship! While left green with envy i really enjoy seeing your displays, and unlike many other collectors i can only applaud your constant effort to build the most accurate lifesized display of Star Wars characters. But enough of this soft soap blah-blah, It's just BEAUTIFUL! And now give us a complete list of all parts used... haha, sorry couldn't resist, mate! But i'm really interested in what is the underneath part of your "gun shells"? Quote
Rolf Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I agree all the way whit the posts above. I saw your move a long replica suit on your face book page and zoom in all the pics for a lllooonnggg time... and here i i´m again, still looking at the same pics over and over again. Thanks for your keep going on inspiration bro Quote
gino Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 Thanks guys! Had a lot of help with this one. I used to think a sandtrooper was just an easy variation of a regular stormtrooper, and while that might be sort of true, once I got into it I realized just how much I underestimated the amount of extra stuff that needed researched etc.. to get right. Respect for all the other sandys out there. Also, I'm really glad that there seems to be a renewed enthusiasm for accuracy around this character. 1 Quote
