netfrost
Hey all.My name is Chris IC:13061 from the Capital City Garrison. I've had it with all this snow... I want sand! As many, I have tons of different projects on the go. So far I have my Imperial Crewman done, I have a Rebel Pilot done, I'm currently sculpting my Emperor mask and am about to start latching my Wookiee. However several months ago, I placed an order for some armor! I got a TD kit for myself, a coworker got one for himself and at the time, my wife wanted to add a TK to her list, but has since changed her mind, so an other friend in the garrison is taking that one. Well as I was on vacation last week... this showed up at my place. I can't wait to start working on it... but as I sat there with the bucket parts on the table with all my tools. I noticed I'm suffering from First Cut Syndrome. This is not like me. Several friends who have built TKs have told me to just jump in and do small cuts. I'm hoping to start this weekend. DirtyBoy
Awesome man!!! Congrats on your purchase. Start small will things like the shoulder bells, then the forearms, biceps etc....save the helmet for last since it's the most challenging part. Cantina Security
Awesome, just get in the zone, go slow ask lots of questions... You got this...
iconoclasta_88
Awesome!! And I know what you mean... even after having assembled half a dozen kits and around 20 buckets, I get nervous with the first cut. I always start with the biceps if that helps. Guess that doesnt make me that nervous... and leave the bucket last. Good luck and post pictures. Saludos
netfrost
So all I needed was that one cut to get me in the zone. I sat there starring at the faceplate for hours and then dived in. I cut the eyes and frown out. Having gotten my feet wet I continued on to the legs. A buddy of mine who's built a few TKs suggested I start with the legs since most people don't really stare at the legs and by the time you get to the bucket you're used to it. I went out this weekend and got the snaps, glue and elastic straps. Hopefully I'll have time this week and or weekend and will post some pics as I go. Still need to find an undersuit, order my boots, pauldron and pouches

netfrost
So everything has been trimmed! Bit of sanding before I start gluing this week. My boots, pauldron and other fiddley bits have shipped and should be here in a matter of days. I also got a hand on these pouches. Going to have to dye one of them obviously. I'll post progress pics of the armor soon
SCRIBBLER
@ Chris -You just gotta love getting those big brown boxes in the mail! Good times! FYI...For standard deployment, although the canvas pouch (after the mods) is acceptable, the French pouch (left) is not accurate and will soon be phased out. * I myself started with a French Pouch, but was cleared due to my canvas pouch when I first joined the TD ranks. So, I'm just passing on sound advice! As long as you have at least one accurate pouch on your armor, you should be fine. But getting accurate pouches is highly recommended. As you get into more screen accuracy with your armor build and ultimately SWAT, you may want to contact these members to help kick your gear up a notch!BLASTER 8266 BOO Good luck on your build and be sure to take advantage of all the resources at your disposal here at the MEPD to help with your project! See you in the sand soon!

netfrost
Pauldron, neckseal, gloves, canvas, amp, etc have all arrived. Only think missing now is the boots that have shipped. Now I need to start gluing. Should be starting that tonight I hope.
netfrost
Getting there... Wore it a few times this weekend at Comic Con. Loving it so far... Tried to dye my pouch it looked great for 2 days, then turned dark green... So I left it out (plus I didn't get a chance to build a strap for it in time) Our garrison with the help of Members from Forteresse Impériale, The Canadian Garrison and even some from Garrison Excelsior managed to raise 12,686$ for Make A Wish!
