  3. I sure wouldn't mind if this one was a run that was re-done in the near future. Those flashes are awesome.
  4. I know it's a long way out, and we don't have anything approaching a schedule yet for the bash or anything else- but I was wondering if the MEPD is planning a meet up or group pic? Trying to figure out of I'm going to bring my armor or just my bucket and go as "tiki trooper".
  5. Yup- they had their chance and few it right into the ground. Imgur is my go-to now.
  6. White bucket hat?! That sounds like something a traitor to the empire would wear.
  7. It looks more like a gardening hat to me.
  8. My only issue with the 3-color camo is that it is very representational of a particular conflict. (not to dip into politics and stuff). With a fictional force I'd just as soon avoid real-world-conflicts. Even if I have said boonie. Something less immediately identifiable is my personal preference.
  9. I like the coyote, and Rothco brand is inexpensive and easy to find.
  10. Last weekend we were trooping a birthday party. We were setting up and I installed my sound system (Aker, mic, and an iPod Shuffle that plays my radio chatter) like normal. Right as I power everything up and turn on the chatter I discovered, much to my and the rest of the troopers' amusement, that I'd apparently used this shuffle for something else earlier in the week* and forgotten to reset the playlist to my chatter- So, what came blasting out of that Aker amp? Jimmy Buffett! LOL! Needless to say, I went without the background audio for that troop. *I guess I'd used this shuffle in my battle against the never-ending snow. I like to shovel/snowblow to Jimmy.
  11. I'm not familiar with the method in question, but I personally wouldn't do anything that might be damaged by a bit of rain. Real mud (unless it's mixed with some sort of fixing agent) seems like it would be both fragile in terms of bumps and general wear as well as a major risk of getting washed off at the slightest bit of moisture.
  12. She looks great! And can I just add WOOOHOOO for another working stiff in the ranks! I always love to see another black pauldron trooper hitting the mean streets of Mos Eisley.
  13. I got mine at Target the morning everything went out. Our local Walmarts also got the dewback (but nothing else from the 6" series, oddly). Some people have had luck locally with gamestop as well. Even amazon has the dewback in stock right now- and at regular retail rather than scalper-markup https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Black-Dewback-Sandtrooper/dp/B072MPB6H5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524098852&sr=8-1&keywords=black+series+dewback
  14. I picked mine up on Friday. The dewback is really awesome. The only downer about it all is that the pauldron is, in fact, grey- repeating the old mistake from the 90s. Overall awesome though.
  15. I'm partial to Rothco's boonie myself. They're cheap and they can take a beating. Although I do miss my old one with the map pocket in the top.
  16. I'd say if we had a template laying out the seam on the hat (between the cap and brim) showing where to attach the patch that would be ideal. I prefer one particular brand of boonie hat. Although I'm sure plenty of troopers would be happy to have somebody else sew theirs up.
  17. I like the solid color look too, but the question is this- Would we go for one standard color as the unofficially official hat? And if so, what color? I've personally already got the OD Green and the Beige, but I do think the Coyote would be a good look for us in general.
  18. Sure, will do. Any idea of what sort of badge we'd like on the hat? It will help him getting a quote per/unit together.
  19. I know the chap who makes the "Filthy Dewback" caps, if we're interested in a run, I'm sure he'd be game to producing them for us.
  20. My forearms are snug enough that I don't need any elastic or snaps at all. They sometimes roll a bit, but they never creep down. Then again, I do have Popeye arms, so that might be part of the issue.
  21. I'm late to the discussion, but my vote would definitely be for a bucket/boonie style hat. Even out of our buckets we gotta protect our ugly mugs from those two suns. https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Color-Desert-Camouflage-Military-Boonie/dp/B002MZPQWS/ref=cts_ap_1_vtp
  22. Well done to both candidates. I look forward to a productive 2018
  23. NICE! I wish I could convince my wife to suit up- she's luckily just about the perfect size for a standard issue TK. I look forward to seeing the build you two do.
  24. Guilty as charged. Big stack of ABS for strength, then a panel sealing off the hollow back of the diamond for looks.
