  1. It seems to be working for me now! Thank you so much for getting this working. -Rob
  2. It seems that just like some paints attack ABS, there are some undercoatings too. Some folks in my garrison have used the cheap spray-on truck bed liner which hasn't showed a reaction with the plastic yet, but unfortunately that's not going to help your situation. Sorry to hear about that - good luck with it. -Rob
  3. Just PM SlaveFive here on or FISD with what you're interested in. They're great to work with. -Rob
  4. For US-based folks, Amazon now has these in-stock for $20. Free shipping if you're a Prime member: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Series-Sandtrooper-Figure/dp/B00CFELU30/ They told me mine was three-week backorder, but it arrived two weeks early. -Rob
  5. PP Sent - it's the least I can do for this amazing community. -Rob
  6. I saw some of the newer ones (Darth Vader, etc) at Walmart yesterday - I was shocked. Amazon.com in the US has them back-ordered for $20 and they expect to ship September 12th. Just look at all sellers and look for the one that is from Amazon itself, not a marketplace seller. -Rob
  7. They're the fabric-wrapped memory foam pads used in military tactical helmets (or rip-offs of said pads). They are supposed to be comfortable, closed-cell so you don't have to worry about sweat penetrating them, and impact absorbant (less of an issue for us). -Rob
  8. Nice find - that is most impressive. Here's the video of the laser in action:
  9. I couldn't find anyone making these that isn't an armor supplier (and many of them won't sell individual parts). Most people seem to just use pipe, washers and an electrical terminal block for the mold so no buck carving even necessary if you want to build your own. -Rob
  10. Great pictures!!! Looks like a great time. I'm not a huge Ghostbusters fan, but boy do I suddenly feel the urge to buy/build an Ecto-1. -Rob
  11. I love the fact that there are more sandies and biker scouts than TKs. Great to see some amazing variety there. Well done to the Florida Garrison. -Rob
  12. From box to weathered in a few hours! Nice. They look great.
  13. That pic made me laugh this morning. Good way to start the day - thanks. -Rob
  14. That's awesome. Nice work!! I don't know if you plan to do a run of these, but my twin 7-year-old boys would go nuts over them.
  15. That's awesome. Nice looking blaster too.
  16. Here's a quick sketch I made with chicken-scratch dimensions. I have the same problem - changed my mind from TK to TD and now am missing the sniper plate. I think I'm going to still knock out a custom one for approval, but will replace it with the proper piece as well as the proper ab buttons (three instead of four). Troopermaster, pm on its way .
  17. Absolute craziness - what the **** is wrong with people? My thoughts go out to those affected. -Rob
  18. Ears are bad enough, but I find this disturbing: WTH?
  19. In imperial terms, accurate arms are 5/8" and calves/thighs are 7/8" (or 16mm and 22mm for the rest of the world). -Rob
  20. Unfortunately, I reached out to the two makers of AM armor that I'm aware of and both told me that they don't sell individual parts so swapping the "screen-accurate" thighs with a larger fan-sculpt seems out of the question (unless a large trooper with skinny thighs wants to trade ). I have also reached out to RT-Mod, but haven't heard back yet. I'll also take pictures of the backs tonight for reference. I'm really torn with whether I should try for approval as-is or do something drastic. Mine's put together with CA glue too!!! -Rob
  21. Does that work if the armor has ridges for butt-join/strip method? I may not be understanding your response correctly, but I'm very interested in this since I just fought with this for hours last weekend. I'm building ATA armor and it generally fits my upper body, but the thighs don't even come close. My front strip is 40mm and the back is around 65mm! I was just contemplating ripping the whole thing apart and using a modeling iron to actually remove the ridges from the back. That would allow me to cut the front to a more reasonable 25mm size (not accurate, but much better). I'm not sure there will be enough plastic left in the back though... Here's to hoping for an answer -Rob
  22. This appears to be the Austrian Turkish Muslims (boy, that sounds odd) just trying to create more press. From the original NBC World News article: http://worldnews.nbc...group-says?lite -Rob
  23. Wow - and here I thought that whole thing was going to blow over. I find myself staring at this set at the toy store yet again last night - it may be time to pull the trigger. -Rob
