  1. Oh ok, I just got a sandie comms radio. According to your dimensions it's a bit short but more accurate than what I had. I just received my new seed trays, mushroom caps, and mortar pieces from T76. Trying so hard to get this new pack finished.
  2. Are we talking about a US vendor for radios or for the toolbox?
  3. I just wrapped the white part in plastic wrap and used pink duck tape over it. Was worried that it would either take off weathering or ruin the leather. It held up and the tape touching the underside didn't ruin anything luckily!
  4. I want to lean to gloss since the ABS has a natural shine to it. This is going to be a tough project but looking forward to seeing your end results.
  5. Participated in Albany's Strides Against Breast Cancer event Sunday morning. I always love doing troops that represent great causes for the community. Last night I was watching the evening news and low and behold, I made the news!
  6. The last several paychecks of mine has been going to the UK lol. Trying to find things stateside and now that it's starting to get a bit cooler in NY I am under a severe time crunch to get things in and painted before we no longer have 50+ degree days. Worst case scenario is I'll have to use this until I can find an alternative in the Spring.
  7. Forum software issue that still hasn't been fixed. Drives me crazy
  8. Looks pretty good to me. You're going to get critiqued either way during your submission but at least they won't let you fail and will provide a list of any required changes. Good luck!
  9. I know this forum doesn't get much traffic but I figured I would start a discussion so maybe we can come together and figure out a reasonable solution(s) for the pack 3 toolbox. MACHINE and Strider kind of went back and forth for a bit but then the discussion ended. I know many of the UK garrison guys and myself included believe that the toolbox did have a lip. I'm leaning towards the Tupperware Free-N-Save #1254 container. I just ordered one on ebay and won't really know until I have it in my hand. One thing I did notice after staring at pictures is the lip curves down and is fairly large. It's possible that this part could be trimmed down or heated up and bent down. I would also remove the circle in the middle and maybe glue in a piece of ABS to fill in the center and use another flat piece as the lid to make it sit flush.
  10. Started working on mine yesterday. Will hopefully get paint and pleather wrap completed by the weekend so I can share photos.
  11. What Strider said but you may want to consider going with the one Gordon sells here unless you can find a real Sires syphon
  12. What's the name of the MP3 player so I can find the same one on eBay? EDIT: Nevermind, I found it after searching for a while.
  13. Is this sandwhich box tupperware/craft? I'm currently building the same pack for the "Look sir droids" trooper.
  14. Haven't really been keeping track of my troop numbers and I've had a few that I don't have photos for. Last weekend I made the drive down to Binghamton (Garrison Excelsior is really big) to troop at their local zoo. Had a great time and weather was perfect, no sweat!
  15. Welcome to the legion! Request Sandtrooper and 501st access to the forum and get in on the ongoing race shirt run. Looking forward to seeing your pack build
  16. Check out the sale section here. That's where most of us get them. Also, I recommend you dropping your biceps down a tad and raising your forearms up. You have a significant gap between the two pieces. I'm assuming you are tall and have long arms. The complete opposite of what I have going on.
  17. It depends on the vendor. Some have distinct pieces while others do not.
  18. Its personal preference but they did not paint the inside black in the movies. Once you have a pack on your back, no one will be able to see from that angle anyways.
  19. I'm still patiently waiting for the Police Officer/SWAT broken image links to be fixed under our names. My OCD goes bonkers when I look at them too long lol.
  20. I'm 5'5" so I know the feeling. Trim a little at a time. Try to match screen references. When you trim, leave an additional 1/8" or so if you want to recreate the return edge. I'm surprised you can even walk with how tall they are now.
  21. that's good to know. Especially since I ended up shaving the cap down to fit on the inside.
  22. Great work guys. Up next pack build?
